We asked her why she decided to pursue certification, what impact earning it had on her, and what advice she’d give others considering taking this step.
What initially motivated you to pursue the Docebo Pro certification?
Ever since we onboarded from our previous LMS, I had a quiet confidence in my knowledge of my organization’s use case of the Docebo platform. But I never really felt like I had reason to feel confident.
One day, in a meeting I had with several members of our internal I.T. department, our Director of Technical Services commended me on my knowledge of the platform and encouraged me to look into completing a certification for this platform.
Funny enough, a few weeks after this interaction, I received an email about a new Pro Certification Exam!
So from that moment I knew it was a sign for me to gather the courage to give it a try!
Can you describe how the certification impacted your career or opened doors professionally?
Completing this certification absolutely had an impact on my career!
For context, I am an instructor within my organization, and had responsibilities associated with a single education program. But once I became the first person in my organization to gain this certification, not only did it allow me more opportunities to work on helping improve other education programs, I also feel that it helped my leadership team see my initiative and willingness to grow in my position.
About a year after I earned my certification, they believed there was a need to develop a new position within my department specific to improving all education programs utilizing Docebo. I was able to apply and earn my title as a Clinical Training Specialist. Thanks to this certification, I was respected by my peers, and seen by my leaders!
How did completing the certification make you feel personally or professionally?
Personally, my confidence skyrocketed! The feeling of not having a real reason to be confident eventually dissipated, and I felt that I truly had the expertise needed to help my team. It was a validating feeling, which only helped continue to motivate me to keep learning!
Although I passed the exam, I still maintained a strong motivation to grow and become even more of an expert in my organization. I am also happy to say it also helped encourage others within my organization to earn their certifications as well.
Was there a moment, during or after certification, when you realized its full impact?
I would say the moment that made me truly understand the gravity of its impact was gaining the opportunity to attend the Docebo Inspire conference! When offered the opportunity to attend, it made me feel that my organization leaders had full trust in my knowledge of the platform to the point where they wanted me to represent our organization in the conference. It was my FIRST conference too, so that was especially impactful to me about the new opportunities I earned from completing this exam!
What would you say to someone who's on the fence about pursuing the certification?
I would say take the leap! Trust yourself that you do know more than you think you do. You never know what outcomes can result from giving it a try, and if anything, they are more likely to be positive than not! Definitely one of the best decisions I made!
