Hi folks, is there a way using the Docebo Learn tools included to automate an email sent to a user X days after they have been approved to login? I looked through the notifications and I cannot see a notification I could use.

I want to send an email with a request for a quick question about why they registered and wanted to use our platform. We have people from over 70 organisations in our sector register, so I thought a notification triggered a few days after joining with a poll embedded in it would be one way to easily achieve this.

How are users being created? If by an administrator, according to this article, the timing of the notification can be modified so the message is sent after the event. Not all events allow an “after” notification, however. “User has been created (confirmed registration)” only sends the notification at the time of creation.

However, if you were to deploy the poll as a course in Docebo, you could create an enrollment rule that assigns new users to the course, then create a notification that alerts them of the enrollment X days after the enrollment happens.

I’ve found that there are often ways to make notifications work for you if you’re willing to bend the rules a little bit. Definitely test them! The help article linked above is a good resource. Keep an eye on the “Time triggers” for each notification type.

I am manually approving users for a number of reasons, and using the “send activation notification” menu option in the users list to send a notification to them once created. This is essentially the “User has been created (by administrator)” notification but manually kicked off.

I wonder if I used the same notification type again but a few days later with a different message if it would work? I’ll test in my sandbox. Thanks for the idea.

Hey,

We use it in our onboarding; we send notifications to employees three days after 3 days to start their journey at the company.

We use Docebo Connect to create the automation with API.
