Cancelling an ILT Session without Deleting it

When a public training session is cancelled, we prefer not to delete the session from Docebo as it prevents us from getting cancellation metrics from our LMS.  We need to keep the metrics for cancellations so we would love to be able to move to a cancelled status instead of deleting the session.  Also, if you update the session to cancelled, it shows on the public calendar which is not acceptable.  And  even if you move the enrollment date to earlier so no one can enroll, this causes confusion for customers who see the course listed but can’t enroll.

you could add the word “CANCELLED” to beginning of the Session Name (and block enrolments) if you still want to display them. If you do not, you can set the enrolment limit date to sometime in the past and this will hide the session entirely.

@tgale I agree that this would be a good feature to have! I’ve just been deleting the session if it’s not going ahead.

I’ve tried setting the session date to the past but it is still showing up on the calendar on the date that it was originally schedule.  

 

Deleting sessions removed the ability to report on cancelled classes and we would like to keep them for the analytics we pull.

Don't think the session date will work and you will affect your reports and data. I tested again and I can sort of see what you're saying. The calendar view of the catalogue still displays that the session is “available” yet when I go to the course I cannot see the session/event since the enrolment threshold is set in the past. I guess if your users do not use the calendar view of the catalogue you’d be ok with this process. As for past sessions, user can only see those hey were already enrolled into. Hope this helps you a little.

I manage by modifying the status as “Under Maintenace” and prefixing the course title “CANCELLED”. But an option to mark the session as cancelled without needing to delete will be a great option.
