Cannot Send Newsletters due to Email Sender Domain Issue

I apologize if this is a duplicate post… Since this update (Important Changes to Google Gmail and Yahoo Mail policies impacting your Docebo platform) rolled out, we have been unable to send Newsletters from the platform. We have issues with the SPF record (which has always worked prior to this update). After working with our IT department, they confirmed we cannot put in a SPF record for something that has a CNAME record, it would then fall to Docebo to put in the SPF record, as the CNAME directs all traffic to docebosaas.com. However, Docebo support says, “this is out of the scope for support as we are not able to add the SPF record for any platform.”

Has anyone else encountered issues with the Email Sender Domain and/or sending Newsletters from the platform, since this update? If anyone has any ideas, suggestions, recommendations, I’d be very grateful for your replies! Thanks!

Hello @kbrastad

We are also in the process of setting this configuration due to the changes on gmail and yahoo policies.

Some time ago, the Docebo support suggested that, in addition to the set up of SPF to set up the DKIM security feature as a method to validate the platform domain name identity associated with the email messages sent by the platform via the Notification Apphttps://help.docebo.com/hc/en-us/articles/360020125099-Managing-the-DKIM-feature

Thanks, @Rosalie - I should have mentioned that we have set up DKIM successfully, and in the platform, it shows a checkmark after validation, indicating that it’s correct. However, the SPF Record shows an exclamation point icon, indicating that it’s the item causing the ‘Domain validation failed’ message after clicking the Check Validation, and the error, ‘The Email DNS configuration validation has failed’ after clicking the Test Connection button.

This happened to me recently and we had to add our domain to the ‘Email Sender Domain’ field and then my IT team had to also put it on our Valimail side.

This article was helpful to me as I troubleshooted - https://help.docebo.com/hc/en-us/articles/14656947588114-Domain-Management-Configuring-email-domains

Thank you for the replies! We were finally able to get all the settings correct so that we can successfully send Newsletters from the platform! I’m not sure what our IT folks did, but it took several trials and errors before it to get it working properly.
