What are the implications of turning off the “Send immediate notification digest on massive enrollment action” button in Advanced Settings > Advanced Options?

In essence: what am I NOT going to get if I uncheck that box? I want to make sure I’m not fouling anything else up.

OK, this is all good and appreciated. But getting back to my initial question: seems to me that the impact of turning off that setting will be that we can use Digest notifications with specific date/time information instead of manual assignment, but we will not see the “extra step” notifications.

Is that correct?

I actually *just* ran across this setting today. I don’t know that this is the extent of that setting, but according to the article below, the setting needs to be enabled if you want to use enrollment notifications through the Enrollment Rules App.

Others may know of other downstream impact...

Thanks @shanejacques. Yes, I’ve read that too. Not enough information though.

I see this. Fortunately for us, we don’t use the “extra step” notifications:

Send immediate notification digest on massive enrollment action

When this option is active, an extra step is added to the mass enrollment flow, so that the Superadmin can select whether to send the Digest: user enrolled to a course notification to the newly enrolled users filtering them based on their enrollment level (learner, instructor or tutor). If using this option, make sure that the Digest: user enrolled to a course notification is properly set in the Notification app. Please note that when this option is selected, it will no longer be possible to schedule the Digest: user enrolled to a course notification and you will only have the option to send it manually.

you need to create the notif linked to the course(s) you want to use it with. Once configured, you'll see it appear in the notification tab of the enrolment process (which is usually blank) and then decide if you want to send it or not for the enrolments you are currently processing...

yes...that’s what I understand from the KB Article...

you can create more than 1 notification of the same kind so you can have one linked to the courses and another linked to different courses that you can kick off manually...

We experienced a downstream effect of having it turned on… it forced all future notifications we created to be manual and no longer gave us the automation options (so we have since turned it off).
