I have a course, where I would like to upload 2 SCORM files in 2 different languages. Does anyone know if it’s possible to show only show the training material in the language the user has selected? Or do I need to create 2 courses?

For example, if they have selected Spanish, they would see the Spanish module, and  if they have selected English, they would see the English module,

It’s coming! We do it a few different ways depending on the course - some of our SCORM have the language selection built in, but if you want to capture the analytics to show who took it in one language vs the other you’ll need them separate. We build two separate courses today so we can compare UI preference and Training Material utilization.

No there is not.

If you plan to add training materials in multiple languages to the same course, you should make each one the “end object marker” so that when a user choses the language they prefer and complete that object, the course will be marked as completed regardless of the language version they launched.

Following, because I’m curious if there is a way to do this. Right now, we have to maintain two separate courses because training material within a course unfortunately can’t be made required vs. optional.

@captainzelda while this is exciting, it seems to be only be an option if you will be using this AI authoring tool. Docebo doesn’t seem to be providing a way to do this with other types of training such as SCORM packages.

Sorry I linked the wrong one! It should be coming for standard course management too, hopefully sooooon! We have a LOT of languages and this is critical for us.

@lrnlab we do the same. Then we created a “new report” using the option “Users - training material” in case you need to see progress, completions for the specific language of training material.

You can also get fancy if you set up language preference groups - if language SPANISH they see catalog A (Spanish) with course A. If language ENGLISH they see catalog B (English) with course B. You can set course equivalencies, but we just give language preference in specific markets with separate catalogs. Keeps the UI clean if you have a LOT of content in various languages. Changing their language puts them in different groups which updates catalog visibility.

This is to AI Authoring so you would need to purchase this add on in order to create multi language content (from what it states in the post)

This is only about the ability to localize your titles, descriptions, etc. You would still need to add the different language content to your course. It’s an improvement but not a true multi language course. To make it a real multi language course, we would need the ability to add training objects at the “language” level so that the user would only see the object in the language that matches their preferences.

I was under the impression that’s coming. Perhaps this specific feature is the base for that so that TMs can be defined by language, but giving us a course shell with multiple translations is useless without the functionality you mention. Fingers crossed!

@captainzelda corrected my post...It’s only for AI Authoring, not course localization. Not sure if that will be on the plan soon.

This one is about the course:

but it’s under “feasibility assessment” so no timeline
