What’s the Best Workaround for an Assignment Mistakenly Marked as Passed or Failed?

Hello Everyone,

We are relatively new to Docebo, having used the platform for less than 60 days. Our instructors have raised a concern regarding the ability to retrack or amend evaluations given for assignments.

Specifically, if an instructor mistakenly marks an assignment as "Failed" but wishes to change it to "Passed" without requiring the student to resubmit, what would be the best workaround?

We appreciate any guidance or suggestions you can provide.

Thank you!

I too am a new comer. In fact we have not launched yet. First thing that comes to mind is have the instructor proxy as the student to resubmit vs having the student do it.

Good morning, @ealcanar,

I did a little testing and read this article. There are 2 work-arounds I found, but not sure if they can work for you.

First, you can check the box that only allows users to progress in the course after they have received a passing score on the assignment.

The other is that the facilitator can go into the reports tab and manually change the status of an assignment for a user.

I hope this is helpful!

Best,

Cat

@smallc ‘s

Second solution is the one we use. And it is painful. I remind my instructors to double check they have added both a grade and clicked the correct button before completing grading. We also made a choice not to fail people but to ask them to resubmit.

The trouble I am having is similar. Two different instructors/mentors. One of them marked an assignment for someone who is not their mentee. The instructor is unable to view/down the assignment the learner submitted now, as they have been marked complete. We don’t have the option to hold them back as they will need to progress through their learning plan.

From what I am gathering here - the only way is for the Instructor to reset their status/score and have the learner resubmit? That doesn’t sound like an optimal learning experience.

I wish people would behave as expected/instructed to but there HAS to be a workaround that us Admins/PUs can do to help out in this case. Even I can’t see what they submitted! Where does it go? It has to be somewhere?
