Would take the survey but all things Google are blocked at work.

I would love to see some enhancements to the use of coupons.

One such enhancement might be to allow the use of a coupon to be restricted to a specific branch or group.

Another would be to allow x number of uses regardless of who uses it and regardless of how many times. For example - If a coupon has five uses - one guy could use it twice on two different courses, another guy uses it twice on two different courses, and a third guy uses it once on a course.

Hi @gstager ! Thanks for your feedback.

Couple of questions for you:

  1. Restrict coupons by branch/group: if we had a robust “variable pricing” feature (i.e. the ability for admins to set different prices for different groups&branches for a single course/LP), would you still feel the need for this enhancement on coupons?
  2. Limited usage coupon regardless of the user: could you explain a bit your use case to better understand this ask? Would you be ok with a few users using all the coupons leaving others without any?

  1. That would not be as helpful as expanded coupon features because the coupon represents an option for creating a temporary promotional discount. While suggestion you’ve provided could work it would be unnecessarily admin intensive to maintain and require them to review the settings again once the promotion ended vs a coupon with a date assigned to a branch or group.

@serena.noto  -   yes, I would still be interested in this.

  1. We sell training courses but we also have Regional Sales Directors that travel and visit our authorized dealers. Our training courses are often offered to dealers free of charge when they have a new hire or other reasons - for example as a promotional thing. This is where the coupon would come in. I would like to assign a coupon code to them that they can give to someone in their territory. It would be nice to limit that coupon to just that territory or just that dealer. This would allow us to track how often each Regional Sales Director is offering free/discounted training.  So it isn’t a case of different pricing per region. The price is the same for all.

It would be nice - though - to have the ability to set up separate pricing as well. We charge to our customers the same but all training is free to employees. If the system could recognize that a learner is in the employee branch and be free for them - that would be great.

  2. Related to number one - Sometimes the Sales Directors will offer up a certain number of free courses. Let’s say during a visit - the regional offers up five free courses. Doesn’t matter who gets a free course or how many one person gets - they just get five to distribute how they wish. Maybe they have a couple veteran employees that need to take a brand new course offering so they each use the coupon once. Then they have a new hire that they want to get three courses for. They need to use the remaining three coupon “charges”. So I need the same guy to be able to use the same coupon multiple times and to have that usage cut off after a certain number of uses.

Hopefully that makes things a bit more clear.

We use coupons heavily and noticed that users can not simultaneously use single user per user coupons at the same time, it locks the coupon for all users.   A great enhancement would be to allow this or add another option on coupons to have a single use coupon for a user, but with the ability for all users to use it at least once or limited to a administrated number without blocked other users from using it simultaneously.

This can be easily possible by just verifying upon applying the coupon if that specific coupon has been used by that individual user instead of all users.

@tonyhamama thanks for the feedback. Based on what you shared, it could be that I’m missing something because I believe the behavior you desire is what we already have in place.

The “Single-use coupon” allows any user to use the coupon only once

The “Single-use coupon with limited usage” allows a limited number of users to use the coupon only once.
