Hello everyone,

Thank you for your continued feedback, suggestions, and interest in our initiatives. The information you share is essential and extremely valuable to us.

I’d like to take this opportunity to give you an update on what’s new for Instructor-Led Training (ILT) management: what we’ve recently delivered, what we’re currently working on, and what we’re planning for the future.

What We've Released

Simpler and More Intuitive Session Enrollments

We’ve listened to your feedback and have improved the user enrollment flow for Instructor-Led Training (ILT) sessions. Previously, when initiating an enrollment from a specific session's page, the system would default to enrolling users in the entire course, requiring additional manual steps.

Now, the system automatically pre-selects the session you are working from. This is a small change that respects the administrator's context, reduces clicks, and makes the entire process faster and less prone to errors.

What We're Working On

ILT Course Duplication

We understand how time-consuming it can be to create recurring or very similar courses from scratch. That’s why we are developing one of our most requested features: the ability to duplicate ILT courses.

Soon, administrators will be able to clone an existing course with a single click. You will have full control over which elements to include in the copy:

  • Training materials
  • Course widgets
  • Course additional fields
  • Users enrolled in the original course
  • Sessions and their associated events (without enrollments)

This feature aims to eliminate repetitive manual tasks, minimize inconsistencies, and make the creation of new training programs scalable and efficient.

Looking Ahead

Beyond these immediate priorities, we are already evaluating and preparing other initiatives to further improve ILT management.

We are actively collecting your feedback to help shape our next steps. More updates soon!

Thank you again for your valuable input.

Hi - will learners be able to enroll in multiple sessions within the same course with this update on ILTs?

Not yet, but we are evaluating a number of initiatives, including the one you mentioned, on which you will receive updates shortly.

With this update, if one of our power users cancels or deletes a session, users previously remained enrolled in the course and could still register for another session. Does this new feature prevent that, even if the users are only enrolled in the session?

Any and all improvements to ILT courses are welcome. Thank you. We still have a long list of additonal improvements to cover though so keep pushing on.

No, the new Duplicate ILT Courses feature doesn’t alter enrollment behavior on session deletion. When a session is deleted, learners enrolled only in that session are moved to the course waiting list and can still register for another session.

When you create an ILT, it has the menu items listed in the screen print below. Can Notifications be added to this menu, so that way we know what notifications the ILT is added to?

Great idea! Seeing which notifications are linked to the course would be incredibly helpful!

Hi Martina,
Has this code change been rolled out yet? I don’t see any obvious difference in behaviour in either our production or sandbox environments.
Just to confirm my understanding - this system behaviour change is when an admin is on the session management page and clicks the + icon to add an individual learner enrollment - is that correct?

Duplicate ILT will be a great improvement for our Dev teams!

I think we are really looking forward to some advancements for our Support teams.

We are still really looking for a more efficient and direct way to manage Sessions as well as Session/Event enrollments.

Would love a status flag at the Course level for ILTs that indicates that the user has not enrolled into a Session.  Maybe just a Session Count that is visible in the User Personal Summary so they can see things that are odd… for us 0 or more than 1 would be something to look into.

One of our biggest user experience complaints is that they thought they had enrolled, but they were enrolled only to the course and not an actual session to be able to complete the course.  There was nothing in the User Personal Summary that alerts they don’t have a matching session.  And, the lack of ability to sort or search their list of Sessions makes the hunt and peck for whether all of their ILT courses have a Session in the list quite challenging.

We would also really like a way to enroll/unenroll into Sessions via CSV similar to what is available at the course level.  We have so many bulk session swaps and there isn’t an efficient way for the average admin to process them.  Things that require prepping API calls and JSON script require a skillset that most of our Power Users don’t really have.

Great news to see that ILT course duplication is now being developed in Docebo. This will save a lot of time and reduce manual setup effort across learning teams.

A next impactful enhancement would be the ability to define how many ILT sessions are required for course completion, and consequently allow learners to be enrolled in multiple sessions within the same course. This would support organizations that run recurring skill practice, toolbox meetings, or multi-step training programs across different shifts or locations.

Really excited to see Docebo continuing to strengthen ILT capabilities!
