How to Increase Learner Engagement in Docebo
Struggling to get learners engaged? You’re not alone. This is one of the most common challenges we hear from clients, and the truth is - there’s no one-size-fits-all solution.
The right strategy depends on your business needs, use case, program objectives, and learner preferences. But no matter your setup, there are proven ways to boost adoption and keep learners coming back.
Let’s take a look at some of the key strategies successful organizations use to drive engagement.

Timely Nudges & Reminders
💡 Learners get busy, and training often isn’t top of mind. Gentle nudges can bring learning into their flow of work and improve completion rates.
✅ Use email campaigns (Notifications) to remind learners of upcoming or overdue training - great post from
✅ Set up in-app messages or banners to surface relevant courses at the right time (Pages);
✅ Encourage peer-driven nudges, where managers or colleagues recognize and prompt learners - a great use case for Communities.
The Newsletter feature (long post here) still has a lot of potential and clients can use our webhooks or even Docebo Connect to build out more sophisticated flows with their own Marketing/Comms tools such as Pardot. It’s a great discussion to raise with your CSM to further scope with the relevant teams.
Omnichannel Learning: Meet Learners Where They Are
📍 Make learning easy to access by integrating it into the tools your learners already use.
✅ Docebo Go.Learn Mobile App – Enable anytime, anywhere learning, even offline;
✅ MS Teams Integration – Embed courses directly in MS Teams so learners don’t have to switch platforms;
✅ Browser Extension – Under consideration (link here), but there was recently a Product Design Group - the aim is to easily offer learning that’s contextual and immediately applicable.
Go.Learn has some cool new functionalities like the ability to log in with a QR code and mobile push notifications enhancing the LMS and desktop experience. While mobile learning may not fit every use case, learners can (and do) easily discover it on the App or Play Stores - giving YOU an opportunity to shape both the narrative and the experience.
Gamification & Visible Wins
🏆 People are more likely to stay engaged when they see progress and rewards.
✅ Enable badges, leaderboards, and points to drive motivation;
✅ Share badges on LinkedIn (KB here) when you receive a certification;
✅ Recognize top learners in internal communications or social channels (Communities link);
Personalization & Role-Based Learning Paths
🎯 Training should feel relevant and useful – not like a one-size-fits-all requirement.
✅ Use Automatic User Groups to deliver content (courses, catalogs, or Pages) tailored to job roles, skills, or locations;
✅ Set up learning plans that provide structured progressions instead of one-off courses;
✅ Surface recommended content based on previous interactions and interests - (DoceU webinar here).

Data-Driven Optimization
📊 If engagement is low, the numbers can tell you why.
✅ Use Insights dashboards to track adoption trends, completion rates, and more - check out our Measuring Learning guide here;
✅ Send quick feedback surveys after key training to gauge effectiveness (Surveys coming to Insights very soon!);
✅ Repeat after us… “Google Analytics (GA4) is my friend”.
