Hey there Superadmins, what do you think of the Superadmin group?

I see that a number of members have joined this group, but it is looking a little quiet in here!

I’m curious to hear from those of you that joined this group: what type of conversations would you expect to have in this group? When would you come here to ask a question vs. posting in one of our discussion categories?

We’ve heard from many customers that they want to be able to find others with similar roles, permissions, use cases, etc. Do you think a Superadmin group is redundant since we can assume that a majority of members in the community are Superadmins? Or do you think there is particular value in this group?

Hey @Adam Ballhaussen  Just giving it a quick thought, I am not sure what I would post there specifically or what I would expect to see there that’s just specific to superadmins vs. the entire community. As a superadmin, I don’t think I’d have much inclination to just want to converse within the superadmin group as opposed to the community at large. IMO, I think you might be right, it may be redundant.

@Adam Ballhaussen Thanks for getting this going, I’m definitely interested in some superadmin specific forums. Also, a group just for API usage would be ideal as our organization relies heavily on API usage for user creation, branch creation, branch assignment and course/group enrollment. I don’t think that is something worth posting about in the general forums.

Hey @rogergreenlee, that is great feedback. Thank you! I’m curious whether you think a dedicated group for Superadmins is necessary, or if you think that the bulk of our forums (what we call Discussion Categories) would suffice for Superadmin-related topics. Check out our Learn & Share discussion categories for an idea of the types of posts we imagine members sharing. Can you think of a need for the Superadmin group beyond those categories, or do you think this group might become redundant? We want to avoid creating silos as the community scales!

As for the API group, I love that idea. We have an Integrations & APIs discussion category that might be a good place to go for any questions or tips you have related to API usage. We’ve had quite a few members already express interest in these topics and many of them are looking to get started using APIs, so you might be a great resource to answer some of their questions!

If you’d like to request a group, I recommend you check out this post and follow the instructions. Please let me know if you have any questions and I look forward to hearing more feedback from you!

I would expect to have more advanced users in this group than in the general population; although, I do think the overall community will be heavily superadmins, it would be nice to be able to recognize when the answer to a question asked was coming from someone with the same access/role as I have. Maybe a badge or tag for users identifying usersas superadmins would suffice in general discussions in lieu of this group?

Hi @angel.maenza, that’s a fair point. Maybe we could make this group more focused within the “Superadmin” role by narrowing it down to more technical topics or problems that only SAs typically deal with. I want to keep the group open for now so that we can continue to collect more feedback and ideas from users. I appreciate you weighing in! For now, the Superadmin group won’t be going anywhere 🙂 If anyone has an idea for a first post, then feel free to share it!

As for identifying other Superadmins, we’ve tried to make that really easy for you.

⭐️ Pro tip: you can view information about any user in Docebo Community by hovering over their profile picture. Once you do, you’ll see a profile card appear. From that profile card, you can navigate to the About section and see important information about the user like their Company, Title, and even User Level. This is a great way to learn about other members you’re interacting with!
