A look back at the future of learning: Docebo Inspire 2023 recap
Userlevel 3

It might have taken four years to get together in person again, but it sure was worth the wait!  This year’s event was a smashing success and even went to the dogs at times (in the BEST way possible)! For all of you who attended, you get it. And for those of you who couldn’t make it this year, read on and you will.

Fiiiiiinally, this year’s conference was IN person, IN Nashville, and it was nothing short of INspiring. Over 3 days, we hosted 400+ attendees, heard from 70+ speakers, and held 48 sessions, including our second-ever Docebo University (which got an upgrade to a full-day event with 20 sessions). With so many speakers, sessions, and some of the industry’s brightest minds, there was plenty of opportunity to inspire the future of learning.

DU @ Inspire

For many of you, Inspire 2023 started with a bigger and better Docebo University. This year, DU @ Inspire got an upgrade to a full-day, hands-on, in-person event with 20 sessions.

While hosting a sold out DU IRL had many perks, the main pitfall was that tickets were limited. But fear not! For those of you who weren't able to attend DU, all DU @ Inspire presentations were recorded and are available on demand. (More info on that at the bottom of this post)

An explosive executive keynote

Docebo Founder and CEO, Claudio Erba, kicked off the conference with an unforgettable opening address that was nothing short of a hit. He hammered home the point that, “AI doesn’t feel emotions. You do. Without us, AI is nothing.” The key takeaway: AI is an accelerator of human creativity—not a replacement for it. We’ll still need people and their creative abilities to power L&D.

Bill Pelster Talks Talent Trends

While Bill Pelster (Co-Founder of The Josh Bersin Company) might not have physically smashed anything, he sure did smash through some preconceptions about what’s really going on in the world of Talent and HR. In his discussion focused on Talent Trends, he helped us understand what’s driving this sudden interest in skills, generative AI, and HR and introduced us to the concept of creative new talent practices built on the Systemic HR operating model.

Erica Keswin Tackles the Retention Revolution

In her Retention Revolution keynote address, Erica Keswin tackled what’s on every CEO’s mind at the moment: Attracting and retaining talent. She explored how companies are rethinking professional development—shifting from the traditional top-down model to one that puts its workers first—and explained how retaining employees comes down to three surprising (and very human) things: autonomy, connection, and equity. She also shared how a human-centric, learning-focused approach that provides opportunities for development early, often, and with no strings attached can help organizations gain a competitive advantage in the highly-competitive talent market.

A Look Ahead: Our Product Keynote

Alessio Artuffo (President and COO), Fabio Pirovano (Chief Product Officer), Giuseppe Tomasella (VP of AI), and Samantha Murray (Director of Product Marketing) took to the main stage in a product keynote that address how Docebo is building for the future, today. As Alessio  emphasized, we’re focused on developing cutting-edge technology to meet the evolving demands of the learning industry. And we’re doing it on a solid foundation built from years of experience, research, data, and partnership with our industry’s best and brightest. The best part is; we’re not building this foundation alone. We are building it with you, for you!

This sentiment harkened back to last year’s conference, where leaders from our Product and Customer teams declared that 2023 would be the year of YOU—the customer. Fabio shared some of the ways in which we’ve delivered on that promise so far, including Product Design Groups for our Campaign Manager, Digital Community, and Analytics Dashboards features, continuous discovery and improved alpha and beta testing (to reduce risk and increase success of new product launches), and User Experience Research Workshops (we’ve conducted two so far—one for customer education and one for sales enablement) to inform our product investments and our long-term strategy.

Before the team shared what’s coming, Samantha celebrated some wins in the form of recently released features and capabilities that were heavily influenced by all of you, like more control for power users, easier certification and compliance, improved mobile experience, simplified content creation in Shape, improved critical integrations, more sample recipes, and easier learning impact measurement.

Then came some pretty announcements and key milestones, including:

  • Docebo for Microsoft Teams: The Sept. 28 launch will allow learners to take training directly through MS Teams, with a personalized training dashboard that speeds up the processes of learning directly in the workflow, and also simplifies the search & share of learning content in chats, and channels, without leaving the MS Teams application.
  • Community Hub: An innovative addition to the Docebo Learn platform designed to facilitate knowledge sharing, increase collaboration and engagement, and help you scale your learning programs by leveraging your champions and subject matter experts in your network. Community Hub is currently in beta, launching Q1 2024.
  • Docebo Learn Insights: We’re partnering with the best analytics providers, (Snowflake for the data warehouse and AWS QuickSight for the frontend analytics) to deliver a new generation of dashboards. So you can monitor and analyze learning performance directly from Learn LMS. Watch for this in Q1 2024.
  • Shape 2.0:  This new version of Shape will give you content superpowers. Watch for Co-Pilot (for sales enablement and employee onboarding) and Virtual Role Play (e.g. pitch recordings and simulations) launches in 2024.
  • Content Hub: In 2024, you'll have all the tools you need to manage the content production lifecycle from end to end in a single place. Content Hub will be your single source of truth for creating, curating, translating, localizing, reviewing, approving, delivering and measuring the performance of your content.

This is how we will continue to enable learning at scale.

Inspire Goes to the Dogs

And lastly, this recap wouldn’t be complete without a nod to our surprise VIPs: Therapy dogs!! These very important pooches were an adorable addition to the event! (It was just what the dog-tor ordered. 😉)

Want to Relive the Magic?

If you’re sad Inspire’s over (or this recap has given you some serious FOMO), don’t worry! You can access Every. Single. Inspire. Session on demand until August 31, 2024 (so everyday can be Inspire Day)!

Here’s how it works:

  • If you attended the Inspire conference in person, you’ll automatically get access to the DU sessions. As soon as the recordings are ready, you’ll get an email with your link to view all 50 sessions in our Inspire Attendee Hub.
  • If you didn't attend this year's event, you can purchase an on-demand pass.  Once you’ve purchased your pass, you’ll get an email with details on how to access the recordings. (Please note, in order to access the DU @ Inspire sessions, you’ll need to purchase the DU @ Inspire + Conference pass).

Well, that’s it for now! We’d like to thank all y’all (as they say in Tennessee) for joining us in Nashville this year. It was so great to see everyone in person! Let’s not wait another four years to get together. We hope to see you next year at Docebo Inspire 2024.

@Richelle This was an AMAZING event! Grateful we got to attend!

I received an email from “Sendoso” advising that I should provide my address to get a gift and telling me to “confirm it soon” - I recall this book being mentioned, but I thought I already provided my address when filling out the survey to receive it. Want to make sure this is actually from Docebo and not a phishing attempt? I’m sure it isn’t but we are being very conscious about cybersecurity at my company!

Hi Sara - we are so glad you enjoyed the event!
This is real/from us. Apologies on the double entry of the mailing address. I’m going to check the settings to see if there is a way to pre-populate that for the next book/send out (Erica Keswin’s Retention Revolution) Thanks for flagging this and checking in - your IT team should be proud of you! 😀🌟 Enjoy the book!
