Can we update the calendar view so that all of our courses will appear for each day?

We often have more sessions in a day and only 2 will be visible forcing the client to click on “more events” for each day.

Following this thread as we’d love to be able to display a list of our upcoming webinars but this does not appear to be possible.

The Agenda view is step in the right direction but the formatting and layout is hideous. If it were possible to hide the description in Agenda view so it’s not so ‘busy’ with all that unformatted text from the course description then it might work.

Does anyone know if this can be done?

We do a custom calendar that defaults to an agenda view style view as there are often dozens of courses on a page. We also fixed some issues with the default by having the event name not the session (there’s things like language on our event names) we also have sessions that are max enrolled not have a link anymore since it is confusing when that happens. The biggest drawback is the calendar is fairly generic for all users.

@Bfarkas  Would you be able to share what custom calendar you use? We have also experienced difficulty with the calendar defaulting to a view that is earlier than 8am or 10am (therefore “hiding” courses starting at those times or later).

So I can’t share it directly as it is live data, but here are a few screenshots.

It is an iframe embed from the server the custom calendar lives on. It defaults to the agenda view. If the course is max enrolled, the link goes away and the text turns red and has an added text of (FULL) added to the end (none are currently so couldn’t grab a screenshot).

The month view works the same way, except the height of the date box is defined by the number of lines of events needed.

The learning plan view is special since it is not really a calendar view, but organizes the data by course which is then organized by learning plan in case the user or more often, manager is looking for a specific upcoming course options instead of browsing the calendar. Yes, they could just go to the course page, but they went to the calendar first typically and wanted it.

All of the data is from a csv file which is refreshed hourly through an API process and is the only file that is regularly updated.

Biggest drawback are users not enrolled in courses can try to navigate to them and get the 403 page, but that was outweighed by all of our other negatives this solved for us.
