I have some courses with Certifications attached which tells the user when to re-enrol via the RENEW NOW being displayed. Some users will not need to redo the course as it may not be part of their current job role requirement (supporting customers), however they may need to complete the course at a later date when their job role changes (take on a new customer to support). If we manually remove the RENEW NOW for some users will this:
Affect the course completion history?
When user needs to redo the course, we archive and re-enrol so then this will reset the course certification?
thanks peeps.

I’m not sure if this would give you exactly what you want, but you can go into the certification setting for those users and mark them Always valid. This takes away the renew option and doesn’t affect course completion etc. Then if you need then to complete the course again at a later time you can enter an Expiration date and the Renew option comes back.
Thanks @gus
This is what I thought I would need to do but wanted to ensure that if this was ticked then it won’t affect the course completion history as a manual change in the system tends to throw things into disarray.
Definitely test it with your setup. We use equivalencies with a different recertification course as the target, so behaviour may be a little different, but from what I’ve seen it shouldn’t impact your completions.
I do not believe that archiving will reset your certification as the 2 are not “linked” right now...I seem to recall that Docebo is working on proper archiving for certifications but no idea when we would see this in the LMS.
This is actually a huge issue for us and there are multiple other threads about it - we sincerely hope that there will be some option to “pause” a Certification (=keeping all the records, but not needing to renew it for now) SOON...
