Hi everyone, we're thrilled you've joined the Product Design Group (PDG) to help enhance multi-language course support within Learn.

We look forward to hearing your ideas, feedback, and needs on this important topic.

To start, please complete this short survey by August 30, 2024.

We'll be sharing more updates as the project progresses, and we'll collaborate with you at various stages.

Stay tuned for more exciting developments! 😃

Hi @Alessandro Ortolina. Can you please explain the first question in the survey?

“Are you using a multi-language approach in building your content?”

I thought this meant ‘Do you provide training courses in different languages?’ but the second question doesn’t make sense with this interpretation. Thanks.

Hi @Jon

The question is related to the need to know, given that a complete solution for supporting multi-language content within a course is not yet offered, whether and how training is constructed for this type of objective.
We want to ensure that we implement a solution that will also be compatible with what has already been created.
Additionally, it is important to understand, with the second question, in case there is a need but it is not being implemented, the main reasoning behind it.

I hope I have addressed the question and clarified the objective.

Got it. Thanks for the quick response!

Hello, so happy to see this!!

We are an international company, so our courses typically come in 15+ languages. We create “wrapper” SCORMs where all languages are bundled into one scorm/one course.

SOO happy to hear about this as the titles and descriptions only allow one language. Please keep us posted and happy to test anything!

Would love to see the little globe icon that widgets have added to Title and Description -

We have Docebo content marketplace Go1 and hope that when a course is imported to the platform, we can have one course in more than one language.

Also when the course is imported and a new course shell is created, you can only select one Language (see screen print below).

So if one course is in two different languages, you cannot select the two languages.

Yes, to @Swatson point, there should be either the option to click multiple languages in that drop down on the course player page, or, a “Multilingual” option.

Hi @Alessandro Ortolina ! I missed this survey, but for what it’s worth, here is a major need for my international clients: the possibility to import multiple files (for multiple languages) within the same training material. The course player should automatically select the correct language for the content based on the language of the user's platform, but should also allow a quick drop-down menu to switch languages if necessary.

Hope that this multi-language course feature is coming soon!

Hi all,

This is a really hot topic for us, and something we’d really like to see implemented as soon as possible! I was really excited to see this project launch. Are there any updates?

Thanks in advance :)

Hi,

I also missed the survey, but for us multilingual options would be great! So far we create 12 the same courses just because of language differences.

Also, if we have course in different languages we can only choose one when we create the course which makes difficult to filter courses.

Multi-language options are very much front and center for us too (5 languages)

Currently we have multiple course language versions for vendor created content. Internally created content presents as a single course with a language choice at the beginning. The option to present a course name in the user’s preferred language for our combined multi-language courses would really improve user experience.

We are also really looking forward to this feature. We currently support 14 languages. We need to create a new course for each different language and also a different learning plans. Thank you for focusing on this topic! 👍
