Hi All!
With our previous LMS we had a 25 hour/year CE requirement, with certificates offered to those who met that requirement or went above and beyond (Bronze, Silver and Gold levels). Our old LMS made it easy to both assign a time value to items (such as video length) or time spent on an activity (such as a webinar).
We have paused this entire system while we’ve transitioned to Docebo (we launched November 2021) because the focus seems to be on credits vs. time. We are starting to try and redesign our whole system and figure what a new credit-based requirement would look like. We’d like to try and tie gamification badges into this a well. A couple questions for discussion:
- How many of you have implemented a CE system, what does it look like, and do you have any tips/tricks or best practices? One idea we have is to assign one point to each piece of training material in a course, and that becomes its credit value (5 items = 5 credits). Or, giving documents 1 point and a video say 5 points. How do you all determine how much a course or learning plan is “worth” in credits?
- Do you use badges in any way as a CE system?
- Gamification makes it easy for a user to see how many points they’ve earned (X points per badge) but there doesn’t seem to be an equivalent way for a user to see how many credits they’ve earned by completing courses. Is there a way to do that?
