An audit field - looking for best practices

A general question - we are being mandated to track the why “a something happened” inside of the learning system. We supplied an audit (from the audit trail) from the learning system, but it is not something that is part of a learners profile and may be missed as part of other audits. Other systems that we have worked with in the past support adding a note to a persons profile as a type of light learning object. It was meant to not burden the administrator with needing to keep adding an additional field to reporting but was something that could be recalled on a user level - where this will probably be used the most - and not as part of their user data.In light of that learning object not really being available, I know I am talking myself into adding a field.Just checking - has anyone gone down this path? How did you implement????

Policy Attestations - Are you doing them? How?

Hey everyone, I’ve seen some talk about this in previous posts and would like to bring it up again to determine whether you’ve found a workable way for Docebo to accomplish policy attestations or have found an alternative tool for this purpose. In previous posts I saw a suggestion to use a single question test with one right answer which is quick and easy but unlikely to be useful from a legal perspective. This is our current setup and the legal weakness is why I’m on the hunt for a better solution. I have also looked into the e-signature option and while it seems a bit better it still doesn’t satisfy the need to produce a document with the attestation and some kind of signature on it. Another option and one I like the least is having manual submissions on these where a person verifies a signature and marks a person complete because this will be an enormous time sink for new and annually refreshed policies. At this point I don’t think I can give legal what they want with the LMS and gi

Export/LMS Publishing Guide

Does anyone have an export guide to publishing to the LMS and what test questions/responses can be gathered? SCORM 1.2 vs 2004 vs xAPI etc? I wanted to ask the community before I attempted to test RISE/Storyline files with the different published .zip files.

The next Friday dilemma - xml error from comslider?

Anyone else out there in the community that uses Comslider seeing an unexpected xml error?<Error><Code>UserProjectAccountProblem</Code><Message>The project to be billed is associated with a delinquent billing account.</Message><Details>The billing account for the owning project is disabled in state delinquent</Details></Error>I would hate to pull the widget...but this makes people think something is broken (and yes we pay our bills 🤣). I have reached out to their support...but we may be pulling the widget in the next 45 minutes or so if we can figure it out.

SCORM Mystery - Articulate Rise / Storyline 360 resolved

For folks that went to Inspire 2023 there was a session about SCORM, xAPI and Content practices in general.It was pretty good - we were walk through best practices of generating content and how to work with it.At one point I raised my hand and asked how you get that fancy question level type of CMI interactions into the system where it is a human readable format for consumption (essentially a training material question/answer level report). And @KMallette shouted out from the back of the room SCORM 2004, v3. She stopped over and we met for a first time in person :). I expressed it has been eluding me since we starting working with Docebo. We chatted about what could be the problem - and the conversation did not leave me.I am here to say that @KMallette is right. Subscriptions advice for first time implementation

We are implementing Docebo as our first LMS, and are excited to launch it to our external customers in the coming months. We will have two categories of classes:Free All others will require a subscription.It should not be possible to buy an individual class. It seems that Docebo doesn’t support this use case very well without some less-than-ideal workarounds. I’m hopeful somebody in this community has some creative ideas or can help us see that we’re overlooking a clean solution.Here are the limitations as we understand them now. In order for any class to appear in the subscription, it has to be on-sale and therefore the class must have an associated price. However, we don’t want to sell individual classes, so the price for the individual class is misleading. We would like the price shown in the catalog to either show “Free” or “Requires Subscription” (or similar text). SSL Certificates for Custom Domains

Hey everyone, it’s almost cert renewal time on my end and I wanted to see what others have been doing since Docebo migrated to the new Domain Management tool, which dropped the ability to easily create CSRs if we want to provide our own certs but added the ability to have Docebo manage the cert for us via Let’s Encrypt. I was speaking with Docebo support about this and they were initially suggesting it was easy to just let Docebo handle it nowadays. However, I was looking at the documentation at the same time and shared with them this this warning-like message: I’m guessing support wasn’t aware of that message because after I shared it they agreed that we would probably want to provide our own SSL Cert. I don’t recall seeing that attention/warning message the first time I looked at the documentation, but it was months ago so maybe it was there the whole time. Has anyone with a custom domain used the Docebo managed cert option either as a stop gap or a permanent solution? Feedback about Custom Leaderboards

Hello Everyone! Our LMS team creates custom course completion Leaderboards on Canva. Does anyone use a 3rd party source to generate Leaderboards instead of using the Leaderboard feature within Docebo? We manually create our leaderboards, as it is more interactive than the generated Leaderboard within Docebo. Please let me know if anyone can recommend any custom Leaderboard generators.Thank you all in advance.

@abartunek @josefinarod mentioned using PowerBI in another post and thought it might be interesting to port over to a separate post for discussion. So first a basic question. How do you link your data up to PowerBI? Do you export and then attach the data to PowerBI? Do you use the API? Is there an integration app? I’ve been using Google Data Studio for our dashboards which I love and is super easy but obviously, it’s not a live link so I have to manually update the data every month and it’s quite tedious. I’ve also thought about using Tableau but is there a live link? I don’t use the API and am not that technical.

Hybrid event tools

Can anyone share their recommendations for (or against) hybrid meeting hardware? We’re going to be setting up the ability for hybrid learning events for the first time and need to shop around to find the right technology. I’ve used the meeting owl in previous jobs, but am looking to learn more about what’s out there. What’s worked for you? What hasn’t? We have ~40 employees with the majority of them being office-based. We’d like to create a more collaborative experience for hybrid meetings/trainings where everyone can both contribute and easily hear the in-person presenters. Some of our employees have laptops they can bring to a meeting location, while others are working on desktops so they’d either need to be isolated at their desk, or have a good community setup to contribute and have easy access to the content shared regardless of whether the presenter is in person or virtual. Eventually we may use this for customers as well, in which the majority of attendees would be virtual. I ha

Certifications and OSHA standards

Hello! I was wondering if anyone on this platform has to take into consideration OSHA standards for certain certifications (i.e. Forklift training) and if so, how you’ve handled recording the specific information needed on those certifications. Our initial thoughts were to do it via “External training” but I was hoping there may be a better work around solution that someone has found. Thanks!

Hidden But Searchable Text in Course Description

Hello Community! I’m trying to find a way to lift certain courses in search results using text in their description. The thing is I don’t want the text to be visible as part of the description because the search will be for a specific subset of learners and doesn’t really describe the content.For example, I want the course Snowflake 101 to be searchable with the term “Build - Acme IT” but I don’t want to have “Build - Acme IT” in the readable part of the description. Does anyone have thoughts about how to make that happen. The use case behind it is letting managers in a specific group search by their group’s terms and letting them see results based on those terms vs. everything they might get back if they searched “Snowflake.” I’m open to suggestion beyond a course’s description to lift it in the results, but we have tags turned off as something that’s searchable for multiple reasons, so that’s not on the table.

Training/Resource management tools?

While Docebo is functioning as our Learning Management System for delivery of training to customers, we need a complementary Training Management System (TMS) or general resource management tool- this would be a platform that helps us with scheduling all of our ILT sessions:coordinating trainer schedules and contracts managing operations around booking training venues tracking other operational tasks like shipping materials or equipment to a venue ideally also tracking expenditures and salesWe have far too many ILT sessions held all over the globe with different resources required to be tracking in spreadsheets alone.Does anyone else out there have similar needs and what are you using? How do you use it in combination with Docebo? What’s working or what’s not?

Double clicking the renew now button

We have had several instances where staff have clicked renew now began the process, exited the system, signed back in, and pressed renew now to continue. This kicked the staff out of any progress or sessions and events they registered for. Does anyone have any ideas in stopping staff from clicking a second time close to their first click? We have done instructions and job aids but still have this happen.

Tune Up Your Task Widgets - Vote now!

Hi everyone - I want to bring your attention to what I believe is an important idea to “Vote Up”.The task widget is a decent implementation and has seen a few tune ups delivered - but one that is critical at my org is how things get to the deadlines portion of the widget and more importantly how we believe learning objects should stay there as an option.Well - I wrote something up the other day that describes the current state behavior in detail.Task List Widget - Add Option | keep courses marked with a due date in Deadlines until completed | Community (docebo.com)If I can encourage you to take a moment and vote it up? We would super appreciate it. Even 10 votes is enough to keep it on the radar better. Best practice for setting up a "Functionality Rollout" session

Our team is starting to host various “Functionality” Trainings. These trainings will vary in audience. Currently just People Managers, but eventually, will include Team Members as well. All are end users of the platform. We will offer 4 options per session. For example, if we want to do a session on Observation Checklists. The topic would be the Checklists, and learners have 4 options for which session they will attend (different days and times).This will turn into a series that we plan to have more sessions, all related to functionality. The set up will be the same to allow them to sign up for the option that best fits their schedule. How would I best set up this ILT so that learners can enroll is the session that best suits their schedule? As well as be able to sign up for future sessions? Does it need to be separate ILT courses? I need to take into consideration reporting as well.

Scholarship Programs?

I’m wondering if anyone manages a scholarship program and how you handle time limits for your scholarship learners, if you have one.  We offer a scholarship with the agreement that you’ll register for your first VILT within 6 weeks and complete the learning plan within 6 months. But it’s proving really difficult to track. We’ve started to code scholarships amounts as additional fields and we use our creation dates to give us an idea of when they started. But it’s still super cumbersome.  How are other people handling similar programs if at all?

"Chatty LMS Syndrome"? Or Less is More?

I have always been worried about a system that is too chatty.When I came to work for my current org? I found that the one largest learning system instance had a user enrolled notification was essentially set on full blast with all courses triggering notifications (that I eventually helped to shut down). To many it felt horrible, if you enrolled yourself, you got an email. If someone else enrolled you? You got an email. If the course was part of a learning plan?? A person got two or more emails. Working at places 10X the size of where I am currently at makes me know that larger organizations dont stand for it and will even cap system notifications if they seem like they are being spoofed.IMHO - that's not the way to configure things. I truly believe in the mantra that “less is more”. It is more powerful when you deploy targeted notifications to campaigns and onboarding programs. This paired with protecting the function of a manager to have an option to deploy a notification to only thei

Hello, I would like to know if its possible for someone who has access to a SCORM file to edit it after beeing exported. My situation is that i want to give access to my scorm file to a client but I don't want them to be able to edit the content like they want. Thank you !
