Shape or comparable software

Has anyone starting playing around with the new release of Shape? I signed up for the free trial and I love the product, however, I recently got a quote back from our rep and the price is outrageous.I am really interested in a program that would allow me to create similar content types as efficiently as this program, but that is less cost prohibitive. Would love to hear your suggestions and what content creation software you use. We do currently have access to the Articulate Suite (Rise, Storyline, Quizmaker, etc), and we plan to continue the use of these. For video content we use Screen-Cast-Omatic. Snag-it is what I create still images from or add text to my screenshots or blur images with!

Dynamic New Hire Page

I recently watched “Road to Inspire | Building a tailored learning experience” on Docebo University and liked the idea of creating a “dynamic” new hire page where the steps progressed with the user. The way it was explained in the video is:Step 1:Create Group 1: User is new and has not completed anything (indicate using a field on the user detail record) Created Page 1: Page is setup showing the user has not completed any of the steps (indicated with an image that is shown in gray). Page displays for Group 1 only.Step 2:Create Group 2: User has completed necessary courses (indicated by saying course is completed in Group workflow) Created Page 2: Second page is setup showing the user has completed first phase of courses (indicated with an image that is shown in gray, but phase/step one is now in color). How did you handle the switch to the new course player?

Hello everyone,I'm curious to know how other admins who have switched to the new course player handled the switch. Did you roll out the update without any prior explanation, trusting that the new interface is intuitive enough for users to figure it out for themselves, or did you communicate the changes in advance to make the transition easier? If you did communicate in advance, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the best way to handle this. Thanks!

Exploring New Tools

I have recently had placed on my radar a couple of products that seem extremely promising.ActivePresenter and Saolo Animate 3ActivePresenter seems like the perfect mix of PowerPoint, Captivate, and Camtasia all wrapped into one.Reasonable pricing (perpetual) too.I am just doing the trial at this point so I haven’t learned a great deal so I am curious if anyone here has used these for full-time production work and what your thoughts are.

Hi all,On the Session List page for Inspire, I’ve Added what I want to attend. But there’s no Submit button or Next page. What did I “Add” this to exactly? I feel like there should be another page where I can see all the sessions I specifically added and then print my schedule out. Am I missing something? Here’s the bottom of my page.

Succession Planning

This isn’t really Docebo related, but I’m hoping it’s ok for me to use this platform to seek some advice.  I know most of you are in the same field that I am, so this seems like the best spot to get input.  I’m looking into possible succession planning software, and I was wondering if any of you have a platform that you love?  Extra points if it has a performance management module that you love, as well. Not sure if this is possible, but it would also be awesome if there were an option that could connect to Docebo somehow. Thanks for any assistance!!

The next Friday dilemma - xml error from comslider?

Anyone else out there in the community that uses Comslider seeing an unexpected xml error?<Error><Code>UserProjectAccountProblem</Code><Message>The project to be billed is associated with a delinquent billing account.</Message><Details>The billing account for the owning project is disabled in state delinquent</Details></Error>I would hate to pull the widget...but this makes people think something is broken (and yes we pay our bills 🤣). I have reached out to their support...but we may be pulling the widget in the next 45 minutes or so if we can figure it out.

How do you handle users that have been added to the system but have never logged in?

I am wondering what process people have in place to try to get users that you’ve added to the platform but have never logged in to actually log in. I just spent a good bit of time playing around with the “User never logged in” notification only to find out that it doesn’t really work. It will actually repeatedly keep sending the notification everyday until the user logs in. Of course, what I really wish it would do is send a one time email notification that goes out 5 days after a new user has been created but hasn’t logged in. Super awesome would be able to set up different emails like a series of 3, each one with varying text using different language to entice the user to log in. So one that goes 5 days out, one that goes 10 days out, and then maybe 15 days out. There are suggestions in the ideas portal so go vote if you’d like to at least have this email notification be a one and done thing. So now I am going to have to think of a more manual process. "Verified" vs. "Unverified"

Does anyone know what triggers the “verified” vs. “unverified” menu in the user profiles? I have some users that are unable to access their course material, and (through a lot of trial and error!) I figured out it was because they were “unverified”. But I’m not sure why some of my users are verified and some are not. Anyone know what triggers it? Thanks!

Global Payment Options

We host trainings globally and currently take payments via PayPal at the moment. However, we are running into issues and need to have each country pay in their own currency and the money flow into that country’s bank account. Does anyone use a payment method that could work for us and interfaces with Docebo? Adyen is out as we do not meet their volume requirements.

xAPI - curious of your findings

Happy Friday to ya.A question out to the folks that are using the xAPI format for bringing in courses.We are running through our annual compliance over here on the East Coast and are running into what I can only describe as the normal amount of issues with SCORM courses. My finding with SCORM courses is that it is stable - but SCORM can be finicky format - it needs pretty constant communication with the LMS….and when a person walks away from their workstation...well there is always a risk with the LMS going out of session compared to the course remaining open in the browser - which is a common one that we find ourselves troubleshooting as folks put stuff down and then repick it up alot during this season.Sometimes we have to do something special to put the course back on path. Other times - the course gets into such a funky state? We find ourselves needing to intervene heavily with the user experience.We did do the typical LMS troubleshoot already to support SCORM. Not able to access usage dashboard

Video Creation Workflow Ideas?

We're looking at creating about 400 3-5 minute videos this year.  Our current process is to record ourselves talking over a PowerPoint for the lesson videos.  Instead, I'm thinking of using WellSaidLabs text-to-voice or Descript Overdub with a trained voice that can speak the scripts to an audio file.  Then drop the correlating audio file onto each slide and export it to video.  Done. Modifying the lesson in the future will be as easy as editing the PowerPoint or dropping in a new audio file. There's some resistance to using an AI voice.  Do any of you have experience with AI text-to-speech that sounds realistic?  What about using Descript Overdub?  Videos I've seen where people have trained it with their voice sound impressive.  I want to focus on writing good content and automating the production part as much as possible.  Do you have any tips or ideas to help make this happen? Thanks!

Fully custom Dashboard: What's on your dream-list?

Hello, At my new org we (I) will be building fully custom dashboards for learners and managers and superadmins using microsoft PowerBI and PowerApps, replacing native Docebo dashboards with iframing. If you could have ANYTHING in the world on your learner dashboards and manager dashboards, what would you include? Some ideas I’m playing with:Superadmin: geographic map showing progress by location, progress by team / dept with cool iconographyManager: various representations of team progress - what are on your “hot list”?User: assignments, things that are late, comparisons to other users beyond just leaderboards

Comslider and why you need it!

Hey all! I want to share an experience with you that came as a result of shared information in this community!  A while back there was a post about homepage layouts and @Salvo posted a video of his home page and spoke about a program that he uses called Comslider!I was blown away by how beautiful, engaging and inviting his platform was but doubtful I could accomplish the same (I have no programming/marketing experience...or natural ability, plus my budget is small). Anyway, I decided to look into the program he mentioned (www.comslider.com). I used their free trial to create a new and interactive slider for our Supervisors Home Page. GUYS! It was so easy! I used free images on Canva to create the background for the slides and customized a Black Friday Template with my own platform content and seriously in less than 20 min I had a fully functional slider! AND get this! A subscription for the features I needed only runs me $40 a year! I immediately upgraded at the end of my free trial an

Pulling Survey Data

We have a survey (course evaluation) at the end of each course. This evaluation is required and it is the end object marker for users to receive their certificate. Pulling the evaluation report for all of our courses is very cumbersome. Right now, I pull them all quarterly because it takes so long to complete but I’d like to do it monthly.I do not know that there is another way around going to each course and pulling the training material report but I thought here would be a great place to find out. What do you guys do?We do not want to use survey monkey or any other outside source at this time. We are looking into Learning Impact but right now that’s not an option either. I’m open to hearing how you all use those though. It may plead my case for going that direction moving forward.Thank you!

Resetting learner progress when they reach a maximum number of attempts

I am seeking the communities input on the following scenario. I am open to your thoughts, suggestions, best practice considerations, or other helpful ideas.We recently assigned a course with two training materials. The 1st item was a SCORM package created in iSpring, and the 2nd came in the form of a Docebo test. We assigned the course to employees with a course limitation of three attempts (Advanced Settings > Details > Maximum Number of Attempts). As soon as we enrolled employees, reports came in that some had failed the quiz three times and were locked out. While I know that I can reset the progress for the quiz, I discovered that doing so appears to wipe out their previous attempt history and their item responses. We are hoping to hold on to the latter as we need to review and provide future education based on specific response trends that we have seen.How have you handled building tests with a cap on the number of attempts?  Is there a way to save their historical data as pa

LRS vs LMS

Hello community,I was wondering if anyone would be willing to school me on the utility of an LRS vs an LMS and how, if I identified a value add, I could go about incorporating and LRS into Docebo. My hope is that I can license out my CBTs to external groups that they then post on their own internal LMS. However, this information is somehow communicated to my LMS (Docebo) with very limited interaction points. If what I am saying sounds confusing, that is because I am a behavior analyst by trade and new to this world. Any help would be appreciated!  Oh, and I am not looking to buy another integration at the moment. I am looking to understand the process to make an informed decision. Thanks in advance, Seth

Contest ideas?

Hi! We launched our LMS this Spring and have been running some monthly contests and drawing winners from participants to receive prizes since to encourage use and exploration of the system. I thought I’d see if others have some ideas on different aspects contests could be run using.So far, we did a contest in which users had to complete one elective course to be eligible for the drawing.We also did a “scavenger hunt” type activity where users had to answer questions and navigate through the system. Questions included things like “what search results do you get when you search for _____?”. I had users download a document with the questions and then upload it has an assignment, so they also got exposed to how that works in Docebo. When I draw the winners, I will verify that the winners completed the assignment, though answers are variable, just to be sure they did the leg work. I was planning to run a contest next based around the skills center, asking users to share some content, but un

Video Setting Best Practices

Our training team is considering adjusting video settings from “learners can move backwards and forwards after completing the course or lesson” to “learners can move backwards or forwards.” We plan to keep “users can change the playback speed.” Our concern is by changing these settings, learners can essentially move through a video without watching any of it and the lesson would be considered “complete.” We conducted a month long test to see if a change in settings would change the median time in a course and the time hardly altered which was interesting! We would like for our learners to have the ability to go backwards and relisten/rewatch training material for increased accessibility while still ensuring learners take the appropriate time to watch training in its entirety.  Questions for the community:What video settings do you currently have in place?
