May I ask? What tool do you use for the users to launch the ILT?
Your first question in terms of templates is usually more on the tool you are having the actual class in. The second question, you can schedule multiple overlapping sessions without an issue…unless the tool you are using to run it has license restrictions, but that’s on that products setup not a restriction on docebo.
Thank you for the replies. Regarding the tool; that’s a good question. I’m not sure, as we’ve never done ILT. I’ve set up a lot of channels, learning paths, and e-learning.
The class would primarily be in-person, but we’d like to have the option for VILT for those who can’t make the in-person class.
My assumption would be that they’d use what is in the course, similar to how one would progress through an e-learning course. The instructor would open the ILT course, lecture on notes and play the videos in the ILT course. After the course mark the people complete based on attendance.
Do you have recommendations? I’m open to suggestions. I feel I’m missing just a few key pieces to the puzzle.
Ah. So couple things in no particular order
- If you’re using locations instead of virtual tools, no issue at all with multiple sessions.
- If you’re using virtual tools, things vary a bit based on what you use.
- I suppose you could just upload resources and have instructors go open them, but keep in mind learners will be able to see and access these too at any time, also they can’t vary by session.
- Often build some sort of “Instructor Resources” often a separate course or even outside of the platform (for example sometimes as simple as a shared folder of powerpoints) again entirely depends on what the actual sessions are designed to be.
Overall feels a lot like you need to figure out what and how the classes themselves are going to be taught so that you can align tools to it later, rather than the reverse.
If you are delivering sessions at a physical location, you will not be able to book overlapping sessions. There is a setting you can disable that will allow this if you get stuck. I believe it;’s under the Advanced Settings > ILT.
Also, since there is no direct way of knowing whether your instructors may be double-booked, you might want to run. report after your dates are all set to ensure there is no overlap or conflicts.

Bingo. What was supposed to be strictly an e-learning project has morphed into something undefined and I’m tasked with finding solutions under pressure.
I very much appreciate your suggestions. It does help me feel a bit less stressed and confirms some of my thoughts. Thank you!

The sessions would be at different locations and I’ve set those locations up. Each instructor would have their own assigned learners. Does that make a difference?

I always forget about turning that setting on, good call. Have also seen folks make multiple of the same location. Ways around it.
