Hi,

We have a learning plan that consists of three courses, and we would like to send reminders to users who haven't completed the courses yet. The notification should be sent only once, after a predetermined amount of time, say, two weeks after the users have enrolled in the learning plan. We considered using the "Digest: learner has yet to complete the course" notification, but it doesn't offer an option to send it only once. On the other hand, the regular "learner has yet to complete the course" notification sends three separate emails to the user for each course, which is not what we want.

Has anyone faced a similar issue before?

Thanks!!

Sounds like you should use the “manual” option...you can send it anytime you like and it would only be sent that one time + you can configure it to only go to a certain group and/or branch and for select courses. Have you tried that?

It will still send 1 notif per course though…

The digest version has the same options so you could send it manually only when needed as well.

Thanks lrnlab!

I know there is an option to manually send notifications, but we would like it to be automated.

For instance, if a user enrolls in a learning plan for two weeks and hasn't started it, we want them to receive a reminder. This would be too complicated to do manually.

Well, if you think about it...if you only create a single notification to go out, as you say, 2 weeks after the enrolment date, it would only be sent once anyway since that date parameter can only ever be met once for any single enrolment; uncles the same user is unenrolled and reenrolled in the LP. Maybe try it with a small er group of users to make sure it’ll work the way you want it to.
