Hi,  just after a bit of advice.  We are being asked by a specific department whether we can help role out the concept of ‘learning passports’.

This will be a list of learning activities that are recommended for specific roles in that department e.g. Lecturer, technician etc.

The people in this department already exist in the LMS and we can easily target them (by group or branch, however my question relates to how we provide the list of learning activities to those people.

Learning plans seems the obvious thing, but the plan would need to be a mixture of activities that exist in the LMS, but other things (courses, seminars etc) that don’t exist in the LMS.

So my question is - is there a way to make learning plans work for us and include items are external to the LMS, or is there some other element of the LMS that cold work instead e.g. checklists?

sounds like Channels that also include courses may be the way to go. You can control access to channels with branches and groups (as well as cohorts if using groups).

@KTJD A checklist could be helpful, however, Docebo has designed the “self-observer” schedule in a very peculiar manner. Once a learner is assigned to a checklist, they will always be assigned to the checklist. Doesn’t matter if they leave the group or branch.

A channel could be good, as could a catalog. Both can include both courses and LPs. A catalog would be less dynamic if you wanted to include any type of Q&A “forum” aspects to your list of activities, but it might give a clearer path, a sense of more “formal” learning for the participants.

@KTJD - what do you think - badge them up with the gamification side of the house?
