Is there a way to let learners mark a course or lesson as complete? In our onboarding learning plan, there are some basic courses on our industry for new hires unfamiliar with our industry. However, some learners come from the same industry so they don’t need to go through the content. Can they mark the course or particular lessons as complete?

None that I can think of...There are learning object types that mark complete on launch like the File download, HTML type for example but they would still need to click on it...that said, I would assume that you still need others who do not have the relevant experience to actually go through the content.so it may not be ideal.

If you break it down into smaller courses, you could use the Learning plan and mark certain courses as “optional” so those with the experience wont have to complete them.

Another option (if you create several smaller courses) is to use the Course Equivalencies.

Here’s another thought.

You could make a test with one question at the end of a course. The user must say ‘Yes’ to and that could be a question like “By clicking Yes, you are acknowledging your understanding of the course materials in this course. blah blah blah”. The user answers Yes and passes the ‘test’  AND if that training material is marked as the End Object Marker, the course would be marked complete.
