@dklinger If 4 is optional, why is it 4? I’m guessing that users will either just plow thru it because of the NEXT button, or they are gonna get twisted because they try to skip but then get caught by the certification requirement. I’m assuming that the Certification 4 appears before Module 5 when using the NEXT button.
Is the pre-req for Module 5 Certification 3?
I think you’ve got it right… just not sure that it’s a good approach. What happens when you go thru the course?
Yeah looks good, I would just consider it to not be “module 4” and maybe put it at the end for users to decide to take it or not

end object marker should be the last required module
Right - ok thanks - @JZenker and @KMallette . I got what you are saying.
The reason for the Module 4 is because these training materials are SCOs that were cooked in another system that were migrated. I hear moving the loose module to the end to keep the user experience the same with the next buttons in the course player the same - it will smooth out expectations and lessen the chance of a call.
Here is the thing - we have access to the decompile (the .story file) so we can get in there and adjust it for the new tomorrow. The risk associated with changes at this point is that this is the way it was cooked in that other LMS. And so I believe in getting a migration at least to the same spec before doing an improvement….
@JZenker - if I put an end object marker I believe I will run into an issue - all are mandatory and I do want our users to go through all modules - it is just that one doesnt have to be in the same sequence - I believe people will game the sequencing. I think the way it is wired it is fine, but from the course landing page a person can do some “jumping” that I want to limit.
I really appreciate the feedback. I am going back to my internal customer and talking it out just a little more. The sequencing may just be needed for the certification modules in the very very end (A person can only take a certification module once completing an associated training material).

Put the end object marker on the last required pre-req, otherwise the course wont mark complete without them completing that optional module
@JZenker - so here is the thing - the spec calls for all to be completed:
- Enforce sequencing 1,2,3,5
- Module 4 does not need to be taken in order like the other modules.
- My own logic/requirement is that a person must complete a module before attempting a certification module.
- All modules must be completed
If I mark one as the end marker - the one out of sequence module will be considered to be optional.

Oh right right right, I did see that and read it as optional not in any sequence. Sounds like you’ve got it all perfect!
