Pre-Work assignments/Document before an ILT course?
Howdy!
We are running a leadership program using a blend of vILT and eLearning courses. We know how to set up the LPs for ordering the courses already. The question we have is:
How can we make documents/pre-work (like reading an article) available before the vILT courses. Is there an option to add it as either training material or in the file repository and have it accessible once the user is enrolled vs. just only during/post session?

Hi @corydavis08 -
You can add training material to an ILT course, and I believe that learners can access it prior to any of the session events since the training material is associated to the session (vice the singular events themselves). So long as there aren’t any prerequisites associated to the material, session enrollment should allow access. The training material will reside on a separate tab from where the session events display - the material can be accessed from the Content tab.
I hope this helps.
you can also add Demo Material (users can see this before registering) as well as a the File Repository widget that can have documents and links + you can configure which ones are visible to users only, instructors only or both.
Note that to access actual training materials, the user needs to be enrolled in the course and session. There is no option to make content only available during a session but I think there are some ideas out there you could vote on.
Could you set up a Channel for this group to Follow with the learning items in it that they need and can also reference back to? They can then also pull out specific objects to add to their own private playlist or you could drill down further and create a playlist inside the Channel that hones the objects down even further? For example: Leadership Channel (includes everything under the sun related to the Leadership program) Crucial Conversations Playlist (just those objects that are specific to that series inside the Leadership program)
