Hello! I am looking to create a page using the Channels widget to show ‘Custom Channels’. We are developing a dedicated space where employees can access instructional guides, and are using Channels in a round-about way to accomplish this.

We want these separated from all of our other Channels, as we want these to be more a repository for those guides and our other Channels to be used for true social learning and sharing.

We want to be able to use search functionality in this Custom Channels page, but the LMS does not provide the search and filter functionality for Custom Channels.

Does anyone have a potential solution for this? I attempted creating a custom HTML search bar widget above it, but to no success.

I see what you are saying...there is no search bar available on the widget itself but users can still search the channel(s) you added to the widget if they click the title...

Yeah I saw that as well. I just am concerned that users will not want to scroll down to potentially find the Channel they are searching for. We also added to our homepage an HTML icon banner to show All Channels and their Followed Channels, so they can get that quick access, but just was hoping something potentially more global with that Custom Channel widget.

No problem though!

If you wanted something more compact like a list, you could use the HTML/WYSIWYG widget to create a list of those curated channels and link directly to them instead of scrolling a long page of channels...

That’s true, and if I organize the content in a logical way, it should still be easy for employees to find the resources they want based on that list. I appreciate the insight and advice as always!

😊

@isteiner , If you create a list, would you share how that looks? I am interested in creating something similar.
