Is there a way for Power Users not to see courses that are Under Maintenance?

As far as I know that status of a course does not or cannot determine whether it is visible for not to a n admin. They can easily filter those on the course management page if they wish.

We have the same issue/question.  What often happens is we wind up having Power Users enroll people into courses that are Under Maintenance (courses that we had to deactivate temporarily or in anticipation of fully retiring the course).  I’d love to be able have an option to allow only certain Power User profiles to “see” courses that are not Published.

When accessing courses from Course Management, we do encourage the use of filters to hide Under Maintenance courses so they are only seeing Published courses.  But for when enrolling users from User Management, they don’t see the course status or have a way to filter out those courses.

What we wind up doing, at least for courses that we are retiring, is to remove the courses from all catalogs, since most of Power User profiles are assigned courses based on catalog visibility.

@sjennings78 was going to say just that...to remove the from their view more directly you’re best off moving them to a catalogue the PU’s cannot access...sadly the PU permissions are missing options that would allow us to better control what they can see and do, etc.
