What happens if there is a session maximum but no course enrollment maximum?

Hi there,

We have recently discovered that users can enroll into a session past the maximum if they choose the option of “with session enrollment assigned”. However, I noticed that we do not have a maximum enrollment set up under enrollment rules for this course. Do we also need to set up a maximum here as well so that users can not over enroll?

Thanks,

Not sure I’m understanding your ask...If your session has a max enrolment set, users should not be able to enrol in that session if it’s full...are you saying they can bypass this? Not familiar with this term: “with session enrollment assigned

The session has a maximum of 40, but we can enroll more than this number.  If the user selects all without a session, they can enroll over the limit.

right that’s because enrolment into a course does not necessarily equate to euro, ent into a session. Since a course can have many sessions, these are not tied together.

As you mentioned, you can place a “Max enrolment quota” on the course to match that of the session if you are only running a single session at a time and wish to block enrolment into the course until a new session is available. If you go that route, probably a good idea to turn on the “waitlist” option for the courses so users can at least express their interest in taking the course.

Hope this helps.

Unfortunately we have several sessions for the same course, so the max enrollment option doesn’t work as a fix. When we turned on the waitlist option, users were then on the waitlist, but then once the ILT course has occurred, they show that they have completed the course.  We are logging this both for Docebo to review but was trying to seer what other options we may have not explored.

Thanks for your help!

Your users on the waitlist are being tracked as completed for the course even though they did not enrol into a session? If that is the case you definitely have a bug somewhere...
