Hi,

I am setting up Additional Fields, and am trying to make some of the fields invisible to certain branches and visible/mandatory to others. How do I do that? I added the configuration details in the response below. Thanks for your insights!

Here are the settings we have configured:

And this is how the branches are set up

:

Under User Management, locate a branch, you need click the 3 dots and then on “Set Additional Field Visibility”. From thee you can choose which branches see what fields. Note that this only applies to users and PU, not super admins.

Thank you, lrnlab!
I tried that, but it didn’t work. Here’s an example: I did as you instructed above, and unchecked all the additional fields field for a branch. However, when I registered a new user, the fields still show with red asterisks.

Is there a way to make additional fields invisible to only certain sub-branches?

Thanks!

the red asterisk is about whether the field input is mandatory or not and only applies to PU’s when creating new users (if they permission to do this). Hiding a field and chain a feudal from mandatory to optional are 2 different things. Which are you trying to do?

Also note that if you want the parent branch to see certain fields and you want the sub branch to see less or other fields, you need to change that at the sub branch level for each branch. The sub branches naturally inherit the settings of the parent branch if they are not updated.

@lrnlab thanks for the clarification on the PU view. that was the issue. The fields show correctly when users register themselves.

Glad to help.
