Assign learners to a specific instructor on a course

Is there any way to assign learners to a specific instructor eg for marking an assignment. We’re looking at maybe doing a mentoring programme where learners upload an assignment and they get feedback from their mentor. Instead of automatic notifications going to all the instructors can we assign them an instructor that get’s the notification?

This could be an ILT or a course, I just want to know if it’s possible or if anyone has found a workaround that doesn’t involve creating each mentor their own course.

Not to my knowledge...anyone designated as an instructor on a course will have access to the assignments. Perhaps you can ask your users to include the instructor name in the file (if that’s what the assignment is). If you’re asking them to grade test questions, sadly there would be no way to control that unless as you say above, you create a course for each instructor .
