Hi Everybody,🙂

I’d like to share a question about a use case that might be interesting for others as well.

We will be conducting a big event (100’s of participants), that will take part in a live hands-on training session across a few days.

For some of the sessions, which are more traditional, and will include a speaker, we will have an online course with an exam as a completion trigger.

Others sessions, will be hands-on training booths that will allow attenders to experience some hand on task. once they complete it, we are trying to find a way to be able to trigger a completion in a course by the booth manager.

The challenge- How can we, using any physical object that each learner will have, trigger a course completion for that learner, in that specific course?

And in general - is it possible to set a course completion from outside the platform (like a reverse Webhook)?

We want to use the gamification abilities of the platform and create a contest or leaderboard for the event that will include all of those activities mentioned. 🎉🍾

Please share if you did anything similar in your organization.

Thanks,

Omer

@omer.bitas Checklists are a good way to track hands-on activities. You could also have them complete a survey. Or you could have a course forum where they have to contribute something (like a post, an assignment, etc.) You could also enroll them into a session, and have the trainer mark their attendance as a simple measure of completion.

Thanks @KMallette, there are all great options.

Trying to think of something that will not require the learners to go into the LMS, but just to quickly “identify” using a code/tag in the station and that the person in charge will complete the rest.

@omer.bitas  If you have hundreds of students, that’s a lot of work for the trainers. Especially if there is post-training events, like a certification/access to another system, etc. that is granted when the hands-on activities are complete.

It sounds like this is a real in-person event, so maybe you could have a tablets at each station where the learners could quickly log back into their LMS account and do a checklist/survey. You could make it as simple as “yes I was here”.
