We are having a contest and want to know the best way to set this up if it should be through a Learning Plan or Course. The requirements would be they need to complete 5 of the 10 courses. We also have a survey for them to complete as well.

I was looking at Learning Plans, but I can only set prerequisites and do not see where I can select if 5 courses are completed, the Learning Plan should show as completed.

I looked at Courses and did not see this as well.

If you have any suggestions, that would be great!

did you see this option in LP’s? you cannot state which courses but that may be ok in your case

same place you would set pre-reqs

Hi @lrnlab ,

Yes I did see this, but when I select it and put 5 and click Confirm, it goes back to All Courses are required.

Not sure why this is happening.

hmmm, just tested and it appears that you need to select the courses (click the checkbox beside each course) and then the number will take (also make sure to tick the radio button)...not sure if that makes those course required vs the others in the plan that would not be...have to test some more...please try yourself...

As soon as you start selecting courses, it makes them as prerequisites. All courses that are selected will be locked because they are prerequisites.

We want the user to be able to complete 5 courses of the 10 available available in the Learning Plan and then the learning plan would show completed.

Any help here would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Yes that’s what I was about to write...seems this is tied to pre-req and not the overall LP setup so not sure you would be able to do what you need...I too understood that this setting would only apply to setting the total # of courses that would mark the LP as complete but that doesn't seem to be the case. It’s a but of cryptic setting...

Hi @Swatson

It would probably work if you put all courses into a Catalog, then - if you have Gamification - you can create a Badge that’s awarded based on completing x number of courses.
