We have our compliance and cyber security trainings in Docebo, and we have had a couple people let go, where we had to provide proof of their trainings. For future reference, if a user is no longer using the LMS how long do we have before their information is gone or is it stored indefinitely?

I’ve always been under the impression that it’s indefinite, unless you would remove the user’s account yourself. Of course this can extend to any integrations you may have set up between e.g. your HRIS and Docebo. But even then, the normal approach in Docebo would be to deactivate a terminated employee rather than outright deleting their account + history.

@Ian is spot on. To echo what he is suggesting it comes down to your targeted audience. It you are serving an employee base, know that there are labor laws on the books about personnel records. Note that there have been some US local changes to law regarding what an employee can request. I would match what your HRIS team is doing as a record retaining standard. If you choose to never delete anything (which is probably smarter), then you will want to consider the record retaining policy as a requirement at the end of your life cycle with Docebo if you need to migrate away from your platform.

And oooo ooo oo. I should not forget that GDPR is out there as well...and can have an impact on your shop and retaining.
