Dear Docebo team. New user here.

I would like to know if it is possible to prevent the user from downloading a video file. It was uploaded from a mp4 file but the users are not allowed to distribute it externally, so we decided to not allow them to download the video. However, we are not able to find where that option is within the platform. They still should watch the video through the browser but not download it on their personal devices. Thanks!

My first question(s) would be, what are the learners supposed to do with the video and how was it uploaded to the course?
If learners are supposed to watch the video as a training material in the course, you can add it as "Video" or through the central repository in the training material section. Learners shouldn't get a download option for these types of training material.
However, if you uploaded the video as "File", they can download it. Keep in mind that for the “file” type training materials, the description says specifically that those are meant to be downloaded by the learners. That’s why there’s no setting/option to prevent the download.
