Hi everyone, I have run into a problem with user registration. For our usage, we are using SSO login for employees of our company. We are manually adding contractors and vendors who do not have access via SSO. These users are added by a power user who manages those individuals. We’ve noticed that these contractors are sent to an administrator approval queue before getting access to the system.

I have self-registration set to “Free” because, if I am reading the Docebo guide correctly, that should not hold anyone’s accounts for approval. About a month ago, I turned on Moderated self-registration because I wanted that extra level of security but turned it off when it became a bottle-neck for these people. However the option does not seem to have been turned off in the back end. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to turn this off? Ideally, I would rather have “moderated” turned on, but allow it to be bypassed if they are added by a power user.

Hmm, not sure about why when you turned this off it was still pushing folks to be verified before they were activated. The moderated option I believe can only be bypassed by the superadmin, not the power users. That said, there is a permission in the PU set called, “can activate users”...maybe that is what you need to add to their role to bypass the moderation? Maybe worth a try if it isn't added to the PU role.

It’s messing with my head too. I just added the “can activate users” power to their profile, so we’ll see what happens. I also just had to approve another user, and checked my advanced settings just to be sure. Pic below.

@ChrisBurton Are you using SSO and self-registration from the same login page? Just wondering …

I have both SSO and manual login available on the login page, yes. I want to only have SSO active, but with our contractors, we have to have both available.

Do you find SSO users getting mis-led by the self-registration and duplicate accounts getting created?

Not yet, but I am predicting that will happen. Though our usernames are tied to their work emails so I assume Docebo won’t allow a duplicate account in that case.

@ChrisBurton If the SSO username is an email address, then you’ll be fine if the “username is email address” box is checked in the Advanced Settings.

Our SSO isn’t the email address, so we get account duplication right and left.
