Retroactive certifications?

Hello everyone!

I have a quick question about certifications: I created a new certification today and attached it to an existing course, and I noticed that the certification was not awarded to people who had completed the course before I attached it.

Is this expected behaviour? Is there a way to award the certification to everyone who has completed the course, regardless of when they completed it?

Thanks to everyone here - I’ve learned so much from this community!

Certifications don’t automatically apply retroactively but there is an option to import certification records in bulk via CSV:

I would generate a Users-Courses report filtered to show only the users who have completed the certification course and use that as the basis for my CSV file to import historical certifications.

I had the same question, and figured this would be the only way to do it currently. Bit of a pain but will need to do this now. Thanks for clarifying this.
