We’re looking to possibly setup the ecommerce module to sell access to a new certification or Learning Plan. We’ve used the ecommerce module before and found it to be overly complicated for the end user to complete their purchase and begin using it, without lots of manual interaction by a SuperAdmin once the purchase is complete.
Thinking about just using the Subscriptions module, but would really like to handle the payment in the LMS. Anyone using ecommerce module to sell access to a Certification? How did it work for you?
Realistically, it seems the purchaser must be a power user which already adds an additional step that is not really wanted. Then once the end user makes the purchase, the Super Admin needs to adjust their branch location to ensure they see the default homepage to actually use their purchase. Additionally, the purchase portal itself is not very user friendly and very difficult to customize with additional instructions via localization.
It would be nice if there was just a “marketplace” type area that could be added to a User Menu, where any user could navigate to and purchase something listed if they wish. Then they could just navigate out of the marketplace and begin using the purchased content.
