Hi all,

Was hoping to get your thoughts on if there is a way to do this;

We have a large number of courses, many of them mandatory, that we enrol users in.

Presently we have all the user’s enrolled courses show up in a single widget on the page - which is fine but some users report they are unable to find specific courses easily when looking for them (we really do have quite a lot of them in our org).

I would like to group these courses together by topic to make it easier for users to find what they need. I thought of catalogues but these show both enrolled, unenrolled and completed courses - I only want to show courses that the users are currently enrolled in.

I can’t see a way to enable this on the courses widget, so wondering if anyone has wanted to do something similar and found a workaround?

Many thanks,

Rob

had a quick look at the options on the My Courses page but do not see any way to sort courses by “topic”. Closest would be to use Categories but unfortunately those are available on the My courses page + if you use a version of the catalogue widget, it does not show whether a course is completed or not; only if you are enrolled, not enrolled.

You can use the Courses & LO widget to parse out courses by status if that can help, or perhaps try out the Task widget.

another way you might be able to “force” this is to use Channels to group your course as you like. Courses in Channels will show the proper status + if your users “Follow” a channel and allow notificaitons, they can be alerted to new content tin those channels...May be a bit more manual and require some additional admin effort but this may be your closest option.
