Wanted to see if anyone has been able to set up a retraining or recertification to another course.   In our organization we a formalized certification but after a period of time students have to be recertified.   This recert course is shorter and covers the highlights and changes from their original certification.  Looking to see if anyone has done this.

I know you dont want to hear this - but I am going to listen and learn.

Conceptually we have done this - but we have not fully implemented.

Pieces of the story is setting up groups for listening to completion.

As well as an anchor for the individual (like a new hire date).

A different version of course (of course) for the individual that is getting recertified (so that is the flow that we “have done”).

And thats about it.

In our case, the initial course earns a certification good for 3 years.  The recertification course (a different one from the original course) is hidden from the catalog until the student is within the recertification window (up to 90 days before expiration of the initial certification and up to 30 days after).  We control catalog visibility of the recertification course through a user “additional field” (let’s call it “Recert” Yes/No for now)..

Here’s the basic workflow: Each week Docebo sends a report of who is within the recertification window to EasyCSV.  The report is filtered/parsed to find those users who need to have the “Recert” field changed. EasyCSV sends a webhook to Integromat which makes the API calls to set the “Recert” field for each applicable user. When that field is set, the group membership of each student changes, and that in turn drives who can see the recertification catalog.  There’s also a different report for people who are outside the certification window that causes the “Recert” field to be reset, disallowing access to the recertification course.
