Mobile
Q: Are we able to create different pages/menus for mobile vs. desktop view?
A: That is a loaded question ;) Short answer - yes! For Menu, there is an option for you to enable or disable the ‘Customize Mobile App Menu’. If enabled, you can configure the mobile menu as you wish.
For further details, visit Mobile Pages and Menus: Questions & Answers in the Knowledge Base.
As for Pages, widgets have the same properties both on desktop and mobile but you can create two versions of the same page (one for desktop and one for mobile), assigning different properties to the widgets composing the page. Another customer recently asked a similar question in the community and received this response that speaks to this exactly.
Quick tip: As you build the layout of your desktop page from the Composer, the layout of the corresponding mobile page is automatically designed in the Mobile Composer tab if at least one of the widgets that you added in the composer is available for the mobile app. You can hide those you do not need on the mobile page by clicking on the eye icon on the Mobile Layout tab.
Questions and Answers
Q: Q&A channel visibility - Can you only select one channel at a time within the widget to show questions? What's best practice if we want to show questions from multiple channels?
A: Yes, at this time it is a 1:1 ratio but this is interesting. Single page, multiple channels, single Q&A. We don’t have any current plans to support this, but perhaps you can post this as an Idea in the Ideas Portal to see if it gets some traction. One workaround, in the meantime, could be to design your page with channel - Q&A and repeat down a single page.
Discover, Coach and Share
Q: For publishing content as an asset in Discover - can content be published as an asset and a training material?
A: Absolutely, both options are available. We launched Shape with the ability to push as a learning object (into the central repository) but due to popular demand, in this release we introduced the ability to share as an asset directly to a channel.
Q: For publishing assets to Discover - what content formats can be published as assets?
A: We’re glad you asked! Here are the available formats: JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, MPG, MP4, AVI, MOV, WEBM, 3GP, 3GP2, WMV, ZIP, RAR, TAR, 7z, DOC, DOCX, RTF, ODT, TXT, XLS , XLSX, ODS, CSV, PPT, PPTX, ODP, PDF, MP3, FLAC, OGG, WAV
*Please note that there is a size limit of 150 pages for any file that you update as an informal learning asset before it is converted into a presentation.
Q: What are the reports available under New report that we can use to establish the effectiveness of items shared under social learning?
A: The following reports are available to give you some visibility into the effectiveness of assets within Learn:
Assets – Statistics. This report shows the statistics related to specific assets that have been shared either privately or publicly in Discover, Coach & Share channels.
User – Assets. This report shows the assets uploaded by a specific Discover, Coach & Share user.
Viewer - Asset Details. This report shows the details of the assets related to a specific Discover, Coach & Share viewer.
Sharing Shapes
Q: Is Shape and Discover, Coach and Share an option available to everyone or is it an addition to the contract?
A: Both Shape and Discover, Coach and Share are additional products available as part of the Docebo Suite. If you would like more information, please reach out to your Account Manager.
Q: What will happen if I try to publish a Shape project as an asset in a channel that has some restrictions? Will I see the channel among those available for me to publish?
A: When posting to a channel using Shape, only channels you have permission to post to will appear as an option.
Q: What is the format of the Shape when published on the channel (xAPI/Video)?
A: The asset published is a video.
Q: Will it be possible to download the Shape from the channel?
A: No, not at this time.
Q: So if the Shape is published as an asset and a learning object and a learner accesses it as an asset - then this content is marked as complete as a learning object as well?
A: Not at this time. If the same content is published as two separate items, we have no way of linking it together in the LMS. Assets and learning objects are tracked differently.
Q: If you don't have Discover Coach and Share - does this mean that Shape is not accessible?
A: Nope, you can still use Shape. Shape is entirely independent of Discover, Coach and Share. You do not need to have both products to leverage Shape. Please reach out to your Account Manager and they will walk you through solutions.
Docebo Related
Q: Where can we find the weekly release reviews?
A: You can find the details of the weekly releases on the Docebo Product Updates page. If you scroll to Product Updates History, you will see the current month’s weekly releases.
Q: Is there a customer service number/email that we can reach to ask Docebo related questions?
A: Docebo Community is the place to go for any Docebo related questions! It’s packed with over 1100 members (this includes Docebians!) to ensure your questions are answered. In fact, someone may have already asked the same or similar question so using the search bar may help you find what you need. If you can’t find an answer, then feel free to post your question and then watch as responses fly in. If your questions are extremely technical, you can search in our Knowledge Base or contact support (via the comms center in your Docebo LMS or by using this form to submit a new request).
That’s all the questions. Thanks to everyone who attended this session and asked a question.
