Docebo Enrollments & Evaluations

Hi everyone,

Our organization is scheduled to go live on Docebo on June 1. I am a Senior Technology Trainer and am learning the LMS as quickly as possible in preparation for launch.

I noticed there is no enrollment status equivalent to “No Show” for learners who register for a session but do not attend, I do see completed. While I did see that attendance can be captured on the Attendance Sheet by marking a learner as not present, my question is this:

Is it possible to add an enrollment status such as No Show? Without this option, the learner remains enrolled, and the session continues to appear in their Courses to Start section on the Docebo home page.  How do you handle no shows?

Thank you for your guidance.

Hi @Brya2909 , welcome to the Docebo community and good luck with the upcoming June 1 launch!

You hit on a very common scenario right away: Docebo's enrollment statuses are system-defined (Enrolled, In Progress, Completed, Suspended, etc.). Because of this, it is not possible to add custom enrollment statuses from scratch.

However, the workaround you are leaning toward is exactly the right path. By using the Localization Tool (Admin Menu > Settings > Localization Tool), you can search for the "Suspended" language keys and overwrite the translation to say "No Show".

In one organization I worked with, we implemented this exact "Suspended-to-No-Show" localization method because it elegantly solves both of your problems at once:

  1. Instructors and admins see "No Show" in the enrollment tabs and reports.

  2. Moving a learner to the "Suspended" status effectively freezes their enrollment. This immediately pulls the session out of their active "Courses to Start" widgets on the homepage, cleaning up their dashboard.

One quick gotcha to watch out for: changing this translation alters the word globally across your platform for that language. If you actively use the "Suspended" status for other use cases (like locking users out of compliance courses), those will also read as "No Show."

You can check the exact steps for modifying language strings in the official Localization Tool documentation.

I wrote a more detailed walk through on using the Localization Tool for UX modifications like this here: https://digitalstep.biz/guides/docebo-localization-tool-custom-ux/

Let me know if you want to dig deeper into the ILT lifecycle or attendance management!

You're very welcome, Brya! Glad it was helpful.
The last month and a half before a go-live is always the most critical stretch.
If you hit any unexpected roadblocks, or if you just need a sounding board for your platform architecture before the June 1st launch, feel free to drop me a direct message.
Good luck with the final preparations!
