We want to connect the Docebo notification to Microsoft Teams. Has anyone tried this before?

There are two routes:

  1. You can use the fact that channels within Microsoft Teams each can have an email assigned, simply create a user with this email and have them trigger the notification which will show up in the channels.
  2. You can use the API to capture events that would trigger notifcations, and send them to teams as well via their API (easiest through an automation prgram like Workato, Power Automate, etc.)

In route 2, I often turn off the built in notification, and use proper Outlook messages/invites and teams messages.

via google analytics?

I think slack is the only supported notifications plugin.

It’s a gui based programming. It also is cloud based so you don’t need to have a machine running postman or be triggering events.
docebo connect is a white label version of workato. There are other similar products depending on your ecosystems. For instance if you are in the office365 ecosystem, power automate usually makes more sense. There are others too.

Honestly I’m happy to pay for whatever will make my life easiest.

We’re going to be doing a bunch of scripted API calls. I understand that PHP is a good language to learn for this. Alternatively I could do everything in the cloud in postman pro I think.

I do want to start moving data to MS PowerBI for fancier analytics in the future beyond GA and Docebo basics (no LI/LA)

We do run MSAD environment here but have tons of other apps as needed per department.

I want whatever is best and easiest.

best and easiest is typically dependent on the user and what is available to them, not a straight broad product comparison decision unfortunately. could i build all of my sharepoint/power automate stuff with workato and docebo connect? probably. on paper is it easier because the connection is prebuilt by docebo? yes. is it best in my current spot? no, because it is another new product for purchasing/review/legal/compliance/security/etc. and each connection within it needs that review so is a ton of time and energy compared to living in my existing ecosystem.

Number 1 is a cool little feature to know about- is there an option to utilize this one a single user level? ( email to team chat massage)? if not, what is the training scenario that you send a massage to a channel/group?

thanks

No, at that point it’s just an email to the individual user, no? To do a chat there you’d need to move to 2 and use the api on both sides, you can do the same for 1 too and have a better, more controlled experience but it’s harder.

I’ve seen people do things like post about new reports, new courses/learning plans relevant to the group of folks in that channel they might be interested in, reminders of group wide deadlines, training materials, updates on the product/new features/how to use things, etc. Lots of things.

Yeah this channels idea is very cool.

I tried making a discord for my Docebo but it got voted down by management

other thing to think about are different group types, so if you a team setup for those in charge of managing the system, things beyond the docebo notifications might be useful, like subscribing to the status webpage and any other third party systems status’s too, so you have a central channel that acts as a system status page that all team members stay in the know about.
