How to change course attendants via CSV upload?

Hello All,

How do I suspend individuals from a particular course from "Course Management" and remove their certifications from "Certifications and Retaining" via a CSV upload? or is there any other way rather than downloading a report and changing their status manually.

Thank you

Hello, don’t think you can set a status when using CSV to enrol users; only the “active from/until” dates. when changing the course status for the one granting the Certification should remove the cert when its status is changed from completed to something else.

How are you identifying the individuals to suspend?

If you can use the filters in course management, you can then do a mass action to edit enrollment and change them to complete in one step.
Alternatively, if you want o unenroll them vs. suspend you can unenroll via CSV upload.

@lrnlab thanks for the tip on changing course status to removing the certification. I haven’t tried this, but I will test. I test everything before I put it into production.

Actually I think I was incorrect...once the certification has been issued, but stays on the user profile and needs to be removed manually. Like using enrolment rules to assign courses...when the user is no longer part of the group that originally assigned the course, the course itself is not removed from the user’s course list. Sorry about that.

This might be a use case for APIs for both the course enrollment status and the certification. You can either revoke or expire the certification via API.
