Hi! Does anyone know how to mark an ILT complete by completing a Lesson after the session date has passed?  I’m trying to make it so that if someone misses the ILT that they can take a Lesson and receive a course completion for it. I find Lessons present nicely on the Course Overview page, vs. attaching a recoding to a session where the user has to go on a goose hunt for it. Curious if anyone has any workarounds!

You can add a test to your ILT as the end object marker however anyone would be able to complete it once they are enrolled so that may not be your best solution.

The other option would be to use the groups and enrolment rules to assign the “lesson” course based on a status of the ILT course (you may need to change the user status manually to get them into the group but you probably would not want to use “enrolled”, “in progress” or “Completed” as those are most standard statuses).

Once they are assigned and complete the “lesson” course you can create an equivalency between the “lesson” course back to the ILT course to mark them as completed. Once create it would all be automated except for the change in user status on the ILT course.

You can add a lesson to the course but unfortunately you cannot have attendance and/or complete the lesson/training material. You are only allowed to choose one completion criteria, and you cannot hide training materials until after the session is complete.

If the lesson you are trying to provide is a recording of the session, I recommend creating an eLearning version of the course. You can track who and how many people completed it ILT vs VILT. If you don’t care and only want to track one course, you can use equivalencies as suggested by @lrnlab

If you have a test, another option is a learning plan where both the ILT and eLearning are optional, and the test is locked until the learner completes one or the other. The test course is the only required course and once complete the LP will also be complete.

We add CEUs/Credits to all our courses. It may be so that with an equivalency users will get double the CEUs/Credits even though they only completed one Course.

Ideally I am creating a seamless and frictionless experience for those who attend the ILT/VILT with out having to disenroll them and then reenroll them into an eLearning, although we do create an eLearning of the same ILTs/VILTs as well to be able to assign the learning on an ongoing basis.

Sounds like equivalencies would not be good for you as it is true that if you have CEUs assigned to both courses and use equivalents your learners will get double points.

Do you continue to offer the ILT/VILT once the eLearning is available? If not, it is cleaner to unenroll them from the ILT and enroll them in the eLearning. Otherwise, they will be looking for future sessions. I don’t know if you do this often but mass unenroll is pretty simple. How are you managing the transition now?
