What’s in your sandbox!?!   - December Edition - 🎬 Take 2

The holiday season is here and soon we’ll be saying goodbye to 2021. But first, last week we rolled out the final updates of the year into the sandbox environment so you can get your hands on what’s coming!

Here’s a look at what’s new in your sandbox:

  • Ability to include SCORM and xAPI in ILT courses

  • My Team Reporting

  • Plus - Updates to Course Advanced Settings coming December 15th in the weekly update.

Ability to include SCORM and xAPI in ILT courses

You can now take advantage of ILT courses to manage blended learning.  Add SCORM, AICC, or xAPI (TinCan) training material to your ILT and VILT courses to incorporate  live and online experiences to offer comprehensive training to learners.

💡  Thanks for the idea@FredStLouisInclude SCORM in ILT training material -  🗳️90 votes

How can this help?

Blended learning, the combination of online at your own pace and instructor lead sessions, have many advantages for your employees, customers and partners.

  • Provide flexibility and convenience to your learners to follow along at their own pace

  • Enriching your instructor-led classes with online materials to provide extra support over time

  • Ask learners to take online tests or exams after a live course event

  • Offer an opportunity for your learners and instructors to interact together creating a social learning environment.

Not only is this beneficial for your learners, but there are many advantages for your organization as well. Reducing the cost of having multiple live sessions to cover the material helps you see a greater return on investment and, well let’s be honest, it also allows for better ability to track completions. Check and done ✅

⚠️ One note: You can neither import SCORM, AICC and xAPI (TinCan) training material to ILT courses from the Central Repository, nor push these types of training material from the Central Repository to ILT courses.

Test it out, bring it to life and look like a rock star while you are doing it!

My Team Reports

Get ready to give your manager a holistic view of their teams' learning.  Now in your sandbox, ready for review, are My Team Reports.

💡  We’re excited to give credit to this idea and all the voters!  Possibility to make a report into My Team functionality -  🗳️ 117 votes

Starting in January's monthly release, you will be able to take advantage of four new reports to monitor the activity of your team members.

From the new Reports tab you will see the following four reports:

  • User - Courses: see the progress of users reporting to you, for each course.

  • Users - Learning Plans: see the progress details of users reporting to you, for each learning plan.

  • Users - Certifications: see the progress details of users reporting to you, for certification obtained.

  • Users - Sessions: see the progress details of users reporting to you, for each ILT session.

Less follow up, more coaching!

@cathyp @kferguson   FYI - some interesting things here for us.  We don’t have a sandbox at this time so can’t preview this until it is live in prod but something to check when it does release.

Very happy with this functionality, with almost 3.000 retail stores and thus managers in the system this will give them more control on the learning progressing of their employees. Thus saving our head-office a lot questions.

What an awesome release.

  • Huge to give people self service and reporting from MyTeam - we are going to look at this very very carefully indeed.
  • ILTs and blended learning - awesome sauce.
  • Course Advanced Properties all going under properties? Its kinda crowded already….but shoving it all under there? eh….I hope this helps with more granular permissions down the line.

Thank you.

This is exciting news - especially the Manager Level reporting. We’re going to want to communicate this availability broadly - is there a target date for the January Release that we can plan our communications around?

@HawleyKane - my colleagues and I are very excited about the My Teams reporting for managers.  We just went live with our platform this week, so I know our managers will be eager to keep tabs on their employees’ learning progress.

Hi @HawleyKane,

I reviewed the new update to Course Advanced Settings in our Test portal.  I do not see the Waiting List under Catalog Options anymore. Has this been removed or moving to a different part of the system?

I see course visibility has changed to showing in external/internal catalogs, internal catalog, or only to enrolled users instead of Everyone, Only logged in users, or subscribed users.  We have many catalogs in our system.  How does the system know which catalogs are internal or external?  Thank you.

Is there any documentation in the Help center about this huge change to the Course Properties area yet?

Hey Jessica,

We have made several updates to the KB, mainly around waitlisting you can find the article here. For the option under Catalog, can you scroll down until you see “Maximum Enrollment Quota” and enable that setting. From there you should see the dynamic option for waitlisting.

I have tried the team report functionality which is a great addition, but when you download a report you get an overload of information. Will it be possible to select the columns you want to see in for example the users-courses report?
