Instructor or manager upload user curse evaluation

Can you recreate the external certificate using the certificate template? If so, you can attach it to the course and when the learners are marked completed they will be able to download the certificate.

Hi, in this case no. It´s a regulatory courses, that the learners need to do it in a special training institutes. All learners before embark in a Oil platform have o do it, and present the certificate.

Are you saying the certificate is a physical piece of paper that is then scanned and turned into a PDF and uploaded, or that it starts as a digital document that is turned into a PDF and uploaded? Either way, it sounds like the solution from @sharireisch is what you need. You create the document as a certificate template and add short codes like the users first name and last name and the title of the course they completed. So when a person is registered for the ILT and marked completed then the certificate is automatically generated with the details and made available to the end user. 

I guess the question I have would be is your end goal for the learner to have the certificate or HR? If just the learner then this would work very well. If just HR needs it, then this wouldn’t be the best solution because I don’t think they’d have access to it. If BOTH need it then it would also be a good solution because the learner gets it and always has access to it, and can send it to HR as it’s earned. 

To the best of my knowledge, you have to create it in the certificate function and can’t upload an existing one. But that would make a nice feature request  😀

@msantos if you set the ILT tracking to Evaluation Method, the instructor or admin can then upload the user’s certificate (PDF file) during the evaluation process.

Is there any way to do this for a regular course? We have an external provider who runs training for us. We’ve set completion of a course to be when the user uploads a certificate. We are sent a copy of their certificate when they finish the course as well. We are trying to keep all our training in one place so we’re asking people to upload their certificate. Obviously people aren’t doing that so we want to upload the certificate ourselves but we can’t. Any ideas?

Are you asking about loading certs for a Docebo course or are you talking about the External Training app? I know you can do that for external training but not for courses. 

For courses you would need to create a certificate and assign it to the course so that users can then download if needed.

The training is taking place externally, we get cc’d on the certificate (most of the time) from the providor. We also need to keep track of how many people sign up, as we only have limited tickets available. 

The set up we have currently is:

1. We’ve set up a course in Docebo.
2. When they enrol it sends them an email with the website code and how to to enrol on the external site.
3. When they have completed the course they should upload their certificate to the course as an assignment to show it is completed. 

I can’t see how the external training app would work as users would still be required to upload a certificate. I also can’t see where we would upload a certificate for them.

I was just hoping there was a way we could both upload a certificate on a course, so if one person forgets or we don’t get the certificate it can be covered.

​@Lucy.blake as you describe it, Assignments will work for sure but the External Training app also allows users to track their external course and upload their certificate. The certificate is available from the user’s personal summary

you can try both and see which is better for you and your users.
