[August 2023] Sandbox is now more skill-y

[August 2023] Sandbox is now more skill-y

Happy August, everyone!

Here’s some trivia: Did you know that the month of August is named after the first Roman emperor, Augustus Caesar?

Pretty cool, right? But get this: Augustus was also renowned as a champion of learning, development, and iterative software design. It’s true!*

*It’s not true.

To celebrate Augustus, we made our platform better in his honor. (Really.)

Here’s what’s new:

Superadmins can disable auto-tagging of training materials

Auto-tagging is great, when you want it. But when you don’t, tags can clog global search results and lead to additional work when you check the accuracy of auto-generated tags.

To give you more control, Superadmins can now enable and disable the auto-tagger functionality on Training Materials and Informal Assets, leading to reduced manual effort and improved discoverability for learners. Win-Win!

Superadmins can find this new option in Advanced Settings.

Shoutout to our Community for the below idea. Keep sharing your suggestions!

Increased skills per learner from 10 to 50

Note that this feature was released in the July Sandbox and will be released to production in August.

For the average innovative superstar team-player learner, ten skills (or ten adjectives) just isn’t enough.

So we quintupled it.

That’s right: Learners can now have up to 50 skills! So add rockstar, ninja, closer, and several dozen new ones to the list.

That’s a wrap!

From all of us at Docebo (and from Emperor Augustus), thanks for being part of the community and joining us in the Sandbox.

See you next time! 😀

Can I turn off auto tagging for my extended enterprise but not the base platform?

Thank god for disabling autotagging. Thank you @gstager for the idea.

We do need some better containership for skills for it to sit really well with alot.

Skills > Competencies.

You measure the skills gap for the given competency not just on the skill. But that is my two cents.

This is helpful. Is there a way we can connect tags to certain jobs ourselves, instead of just letting the AI do it?

I know we can add tags to specific courses within the Additional Fields tag area.  I believe we can also take off the tags that do not really relate to the material.  Hope this helps  ~Misty

Anyone using auto tag on training materials that is seeing high value from it? We just started doing auto tagging and have not seen pros or cons of it yet.

Cari - hey - IF you use alot of SCORM packages with auto tagging? I can attest to say that its results are pretty thoroughly mixed. DM me for the rest of the scoop.
