Can you believe it? The September release is just around the corner. Next thing you know, there will be school buses, leaves falling, snow falling, and then it will be 2023! Where did the time go?
If you are interested in what’s coming at the end of September, read on! There are a few goodies now available in sandbox and we’re also giving you a sneak peek at what’s coming for Shape and Learning Analytics.

Now LIVE in Sandbox: Gamification Updates & Multiple Drag-and-Drop
Gamification is getting an update!!
As we have done across the Learn Admin pages, gamification is getting an uplift, and with this uplift comes some added functionality.
Let’s take a look at what has changed:
-
We have a better Administrator experience
-
We are Introducing Collections
-
We now support badges with points or points without badges. (P.S. Don’t tell me points don’t matter! There is a reason I have the Visa I have and I only shop at certain stores. Love me some points…ok, ok, love me some point spending!)
We have also introduced new trigger types that focus on user adoption.
Better (updated) Administrator experience
It is the little things and these little things makes adding new badges much easier!
Before | After |
Introducing collections for groups or branches
You can now create collections and determine who these collections are for. Long requested, here to answer. Gamification is not always one size fits all. You can now set up a collection of badges by department, location, or audience and let the games begin!
Assign points only
Sometimes you don’t want to assign points without a badge. You can do that now.
[Updated] New triggers for badges!
Sorry about this… I got a little over enthusiastic in making this announcement. The new triggers are not yet part of the gamification update. Hold tight!
⚠️ Change to APIs are a result of gamification update
In addition to a number of new APIs, this table lists all the APIs that have been modified with the new badge functionalities.
API Description | API Verb | API URL |
When the toggle of the new badges is active, the API will now return the achievement text instead of the eligibility one | GET | /share/v1/gamification/assigned_badge/{uuid}/public? |
When the toggle of the new badges is active, the API will now return the achievement text instead of the eligibility one in the OG:description | GET | /share/v1/gamification/assigned_badge/{UUID}/shared |
The API will now return an error if the badge to be shared is points-only. Points-only badges were not previously available | GET | /share/v1/gamification/assigned_badge/{UUID}/shared |
Multiple Drag-and-Drop Upload of Assets
You will now be able to drag and drop multiple files as assets…but how does it work?
Well, ya drag, then you drop 😛 Users can drag and drop the files to the Contribute widget and they will all be posted to a private channel at once. Time saver!
Once uploaded, they are ready for titles, descriptions, and sharing to the appropriate channels as needed.
Talk about speed!
Release Preview: Coming in September 2022!
Here’s what else you can expect to see in the upcoming September release.
It is time to collaborate!
They say great minds… Shape users will now be able to invite others to work together…in real time! SMEs unite!
Pin key dashboards
The beauty of DLA is that all users can create their own dashboards. Focus on what matters to you, your data, your evidence. But if ya like it, then you’ll wanna put a pin in it.
With this update, DLA Administrators can pin one or more “look at this!” dashboards to the left-side navigation menu.
“Org Chart” support - Hierarchical reporting structure.
I said it before and I will say it again - DLA is a powerful tool - and it is now getting even more powerful.
New functionality coming in September will allow DLA to report beyond branches and groups visibility and Inherit Manager Visibility.
No extra configuration is needed, the Role & Permission section will display Inherit Manager Visibility when the user is created (or modified).
Whew! That was a lot. Is it snowing yet? If you are looking for more information or some light nighttime reading, the Knowledge Base updates will be released shortly, and when they are, I will update this post with all the links!
⚠️ Heads up! Ecomm: Replace Adyen HPP → Web Drop-in
This is a big heads-up on changes coming to those of you that leverage Adyen payment. Adyen will stop supporting HPP come October 1st, 2022. We have taken the steps to update Docebo Learn and, in order to continue to receive payment, action is required on your part.
With this update, there are changes to both the Administrator and the learner experience.
Starting with the Administrator side, up until October 1, Administrators will see both HPP and Web Drop-in options. On October 1, they will just see Drop-In. Note, this is for both General Settings + Extended Enterprise e-Commerce.
See before and after October 1:

On the end-user side, the experience just got a lot easier. They no longer leave the Docebo platform at all to complete the same. The process is simplified to Add to Cart > Checkout > Credit Card detail on one screen.
