Learning Plan certificates not showing completion date

Support confirmed that Learning Plan physical certificate “completion dates” have not been printing since last WED 23JUL.  I’m told it won’t be fixed until early August.

  1. Is there an update on this?
  2. I tried running all kinds of Reports and New Reports to get at those people who completed a Learning Plan since 23JUL.  The most logical New Report is the “Users - Certifications” report but I could only get it to run by adding in course completions too.  That made the report way too long, and left me having to delete a bunch of rows.  Is there a faster way to get this?
  3. Whenever this is fixed, will existing reports that have the Completion Date missing be automatically updated (vs left blank) so our Customer Support folks don’t have to deal with the calls?

PS - there is a workaround of deleting the existing Certificate and reassigning it to them, but it’s a pretty manual process!

@karen We are having a similar issue that seems will be fixed at the same time.  We have learners who have completed all the courses of the LearningPlan, yet the LP status is still ‘In Progress’.  Support confirmed there was a known issue and the fix should be implemented before Aug 11.

From Support: Thank you for your patience. After my investigation, I can confirm that I also observe the issue you've described regarding Jane Doe’s learning plan status.

Upon further examination, I can verify that there is indeed a known issue with the LP completion status displaying incorrectly. Our development team is actively addressing this matter.

. The estimated time of arrival (ETA) for the resolution is currently set for August 11, 2025. However, considering the critical nature of this issue, I anticipate that the fix will be implemented sooner. I will ensure to keep you updated on any developments.

@karen and @Jtischler - hi. I just reported out issues with learning plan and learning plan reporting to tech support. I saw a count go up of incompletes on a bunch of our onboarding training this morning. I walked user by user to find that the learning plan progress are incorrectly showing zero mandatory courses in frequently used learning plans.

In fact the user completed all of these.

@dklinger agreed, that is the same as what I was seeing as well, except that when you look at the LP itself, the courses ARE mandatory:

Yea, same here. Pulled a report to see the LP completion versus the course completion, did the analysis to break out the users and LPs. Going through and completing by hand. Didn’t want to wait till the patch.

Yes we have the same issue and we have escalated this to higher up in Docebo.
We got the same response which is crazy as this is an standard function on LMS and you’d think this would be set as urgent fix which needs to deployed immediately and not to wait couple of weeks!

The only good news is that hopefully they will push this earlier as they are hinting to.

We have received the following update from the Docebo Support: “I have checked the related dev task for this issue and can confirm the fix release has been moved to today.
We will update you later today once the release is complete.” Let’s hope it will be fixed today!

I updated all of or LPs with incorrect calculations yesterday. It looks like calculations were impacts started early in the month (the start of the July update) and went on through the actual 7/21 of the LP feature.

Anyone who has contacted support about this issue - do you know if the fix is going to retroactively mark the users who are affected as completed as of the actual date that they completed the LP?  I have several LPs that trigger certifications for users, and correct auto assignment of those certifications are very important.  I’m trying to decide whether I need to manually cross check every user enrolled in those learning plans against their course completion for those learning plans (which will take days) or to just hold off until the fix has been deployed.  Thanks, all!

Also, for what it’s worth, I’m pretty disappointed to not have seen anything from Docebo about this issue.  A coworker stumbled across this thread and forwarded it to me, and this issue could potentially have a MASSIVE impact on our certification programs. A little heads up from Docebo would have gone a long way to put my mind at ease.

@JessOlcott - I agree. In the past - there have been callouts to incidents that have had broad impacts with critical portions of the system. My recommendation - continue to share your thoughts on this with folks like @Jay.Kolbenson - not only does he get it - but he can help to take action.

Hi everyone - 10:30 EST - I heard from my CSM that a change has been pushed to improve this.

My suggestion - go check if you saw an improvement. We may not all be tied to the same incident - but I think we are. There isnt an RCA out there just yet, but my hope is that we will get one.

I received a notification from the ticket I had opened, similar to @dklinger info. The fix has been pushed to the system. The time frame of my impacted users spanned a couple of weeks.

I have our company certificate set to a Learning Plan with content and exam. And users are not getting a completion date even when they pass the exam and are marked complete.

@dklinger Did you ever get the RCA for this?

We asked for it and have received it few weeks ago.

@CarrieMN89 We had similar issue with one the certifications & retraining LPs around when this issue with the LPs was ongoing (3 weeks ago-ish) and I thought it’s related to this. Therefore, I raised it to Docebo support for further investigations but they came back and said it’s not actually related. I had to fix it manually eventually.

So maybe good to raise it for support also first.

Hi @dklinger

So far, I haven't been able to identify the root cause of the issue. We just discovered it the other day. As far as I know, it only affects the completion of learning paths on certificates, not courses with completion requirements.

We're relatively new to this LMS, and we're just starting to uncover issues that need support. I've submitted a ticket and look forward to hearing back soon.

Morning from the US East Coast. I will request the RCA. I do know that it was a fix that needed addressing in multiple stages - with historic records needing attention after a fix was put in place.

Hi @dklinger

I contacted support and learned that the short code wasn't functioning because it was not linked to the learning path. They provided me with the correct code, and I created a new template using the updated short code. It worked perfectly!

I really appreciate your help. :)

@CarrieMN89 - did they tell you how they linked it?
