Question

Observation check list or what else could we use?

So we have kind of a weird case that we can’t figure out how to do. We have a learning plan that our learners will take, one course in the learning plan is an ILT role play final. We will have the learner role play a scenario and then have three observers fill out an observation list or an evaluation or something along those lines and then we’d like it to be sent off to the manager.

The issue we are running into is assigning the observation checklist. We will have a pool of observers who will sign up for the different role play sessions based on their availability. We will have them add themselves as instructors to whichever course works for them. We then need all three observers to have access to separate observation checklist for the same learner.

Aside from creating three separate observation checklists for each person to send to each observer, is there anyway to do this? We will have potentially 300+ learners taking this and a pool of 20 or so observers. Thanks!

Just so I understand your use case...having the observer fill out the checklist and adding the direct manager as the approver will work however am wondering why you need to assign 3 different checklists? Do you assign a different observer for each checklist?

If you use a generic or shared account to assign the observer, you could in theory have a shard experience for the observers so that any of them could observe any user assigned the checklist.

Another thought would be to combine the 3 checklists into a single one and where you have any questions that do not apply you could add that as one of your choices or enable the “notes” field to track comments, etc.

Thanks for responding! So we need three observers to observe the learner, each observer being able to fill out their own checklist for the learner. But I see that you can only assign one observer per checklist so that will just take a lot of time for us to assign three checklists per learner for each of their observers. Unless I’m misunderstanding how the checklists work, which could be the case.

Maybe you can build the checklist with sections for Observer #1, Observer #2, and Observer #3 … so there is only one checklist, but each observer knows to put his/her comments into a single section.

I think that is what we will have to do. Thank you for the suggestion!

You are correct that you can only add a single observer for a checklist

If you use the idea of a generic (shared) account for all observers, each one will be able to pick where the previous one left off. You can partially fill out the checklist as it auto-saves the entries. Perhaps think about adding a “short answer” type question where the observer can input their name so you can see who filled out what section, etc.

Would that help?

I know I posted an idea to ask Docebo to add more options for multiple approvers but none for the observers; maybe you can add that to the ideas page?
