AI Skill Suggestions for Job Positions - Irrelevant Skills

Hi Docebo Community,

I’m trying to better understand how the AI-driven skill suggestion works in relation to job positions within the platform.

For example, when entering the job position “Payroll Analyst”, the system suggests some skills that seem quite irrelevant, such as “Food Counter Management”. This kind of mismatch raises questions about how the AI determines which skills to suggest for a given role.

  • All skills set are available to everyone

  • All custom skills
  • Connected with AI based channel
    Job Position = Payroll Executive

    Job Position = Payroll Executive

Could anyone with knowledge of the underlying AI logic or recommendation engine explain:

  • How does the AI associate skills with job positions?

  • What data sources or algorithms are used to generate these suggestions?

  • Is there a way to customize or improve the relevance of skill suggestions for specific job titles?

I’d appreciate insights from anyone familiar with the AI suggestion mechanism behind this feature.

Thanks in advance!

I agree some recommendations make no sense; and since we cannot edit the job typed in by the user, it can mess things up quickly since skills are sourced from outside Docebo. We haven't yet fully integrated or launched the use of skills but did find that creating your own custom skills helps to keep things more aligned to your c company’s competency profiles.

Did you read through the skills articles? I found some useful tips there, including not enabling AI for skills until your platform is built out to some extent.
