Hi everyone,

I'm seeking input from other customers regarding certification renewal workflows.

Current Setup:

  • Learners are initially enrolled in Course A during onboarding (30-day soft deadline)
  • Annual recertification is required one year from the completion date
  • A Certification has been created to manage this process
  • Automated email notifications are sent 30 days before certification expiration
  • Learners have flexibility to renew anytime before expiration

Challenge:
When learners click the "Renew" button, two issues occur:

  1. They receive the default course enrollment email
  2. They see conflicting deadlines:
    • Course shows a 30-day completion window
    • Certification expiration email indicates next-day expiration (e.g., if the learners waited until a day before the expiration date)

While we know Docebo is working on redesigning the Certification & Retraining app, I'm interested in learning how other customers are managing this situation in the interim.
